working 28 on 28 off is tough but if you're single then it sounds good.

offshore is only dangerous when the safety officer doesn't do their job

loads to see.. plenty of culture

ever flown in a helicopter before?? not many ppl get that chance.

most will pay through their noses

salary in usd and/or home currency

countries / territories to avoid : Congo!

have been to there, can't even go around town without bodyguards. Yes BODYGUARDS some form of civil unrest etc

save most of your money since almost everything is free, unless you go for some kind of "extra-curricular" activites then its a different ball game.

save up to 20 yrs can retire liao, yes it can be done even in Singapore!

carreer prospects : Great

PS : No body stays at the initial level after working so long for a company.

If you're still in one then its time to tell them to fook off! faster chao that lao ban liao!

Great forum, a lot of kakis from oil and petroleum.

Currently I am looking for offshore (rig/drill ship/jack up/platform) medic job - in SG or overseas.

Was looking aorund all webs listed in page 1 but no available there.

Anyone can tell me where can I have opportunity?

Help is urgently needed due to family and financial commitments.

Not necessary to be permanent, temp oso can - like rigs in yard.

Any information is highly appreciated.

Thanks

are u sure?i've been to Congo, back in 2006 for work, stayed there for 2 mths...this port city called Point Noire...it's not that bad...dun need bodyguards to go to town...met this Congonese who used to stay in Australia for 10 years & he said he knows where is Singapore coz all the locals there don't have any idea where is Singapore & Singapore actually do exists!!!!!they know Malaysia & Indonesia...guess we are not well known globally as we think we are....

trust me its always who you know, never what you know in this field.

i've come across ppl from semi conductor industry then switch to oil & gas with ZERO knowledge in processes, tool and/or machinery.

i have never known a foreign oil & gas company hiring an asian as a rig manager!!!

that post will & will always belong to foreigners.

asians in oil & gas industry.. you're better off in shell or something.

a senior position in a foreign owned drilling company... forget it..

you'll be so low in the ranks, you'll feel like killing yourselves..

looking for drz parts, any parts will do!

Not a rosy industry, before u know it half ur life is gone.

Life's too short, you may leave anytime, think of now, just do it.
