Also need to get a new helmet. My OGK can't fit under the seat. Which helmet are you guys using that can fit under the seat? Don't want to use those half cap lah, safety first. Maybe those classic or vintage looking ones? Any legal ones?

hi normal half face helmet (w/o those funny fins etc) is able to fit.

Wa lao ... side deflectors cost S$450 w/o GST from Mah. Any better ideas?

i heard there are replica ones around tat cost $200+? im not too sure. u may enquire from mah. maybe they dun have it currently tats why quoted u the original ones.

Quiet here ...

Anyone knows how the 'Service' light is activated?

By sensor (for some faults), time based, mileage based?

Mine just came on and I can't reset. Probably need to check with mechanic tmr.

as another bro has mentioned, hold on the mileage reset button w/o releasing it, den turn on ignition.

after 2-3 secs, u will see the service light blink twice, den, come on for 1 sec, den disappear.

No more regrets.

My X8 is stock. Specs wise X8 is already higher hp and bike is lighter.

X8:

Throttle/Acceleration is more responsive and slightly faster. Higher top speed as well at 130, a bit slow from 110-130 though.

Handling wise also better. Dunno how to explain, basically I'm more 'daring' with X8. Maybe I've been riding it for 5yrs.

AD200:

Feels bulky, probably I haven't gotten used to it yet.

Roof good, useful for shelter from sun and rain.

Acceleration not far behind X8, just that we don't feel it because no wind effect. Lower top speed around 110.

X8 around 26km/l. Have not tested my AD200. Still haven't found my side deflextors. Mah quoted $450 wo gst and still got to order and wait. They dont have 'chiong' ones. Didnt want to spend so much, any idea where else can I source? Also found that the speakers compartent can only fit 3 inch speakers. Still thinking how to fit bigger ones ... any ideas?

i see. i guess if really wan the side deflectors, u need to order from mah. its a good thing really. esp to deflect the winds and the rains.

no idea about speakers..

No more regrets.

haha, i will be more than willing to help. but the gauges are not cheap.. tacho and voltage meter will cost around $160. from prosport.

anyway its very difficult to find tacho for single cylinder bikes.

the vacuum.. its extra la. haha. just to check for leakages which rarely happen.

No more regrets.

Raining heavily today...

Rode to office with rain-caots.

When reached the B1 car-park of my office buidling, the car-park floor was very wet...

When I was turning right, the whole bike skidded... It happened so fast for me to re-act to put down my legs.

Right-sided rear view mirror became loose. My front wind-shield became loose...

Worse of all, some paint came off near to the word "Adiva" on the right side...

Rider escaped unhurt.

Got to send my ride to the work-shop this evening...

Brothers and sisters, do ride safe in the car-parks, esp with the wet floorings.

Once i went to a hotel car park and buang on an OIL PATCH in a T-Juntion lor!

Carparks really dangerous especially the smooth floor ones, ride really slow

New AD200 rider here :)

Tested top speed so far 110, I think can go faster if down slope. Didn't try. Comfortable cruising speed around 95-100. Need almost full throttle to get to 110. Nice sounding engine. But can be quite loud at 100. Normally I wear earplugs anyway, makes the ride more peaceful. Can be quite warm when riding with jacket. During traffic jams, easy to squeeze between cars due to mirror position is above most cars' mirrors. But watch out for lorries, mirror same height as lorries'.

Very torquey engine. Can get out of traffic lights quickly if you wish. Pls don't compare with Class 2/2A bikes lah ...

Seating position can be quite tight (comparing to my X8). I can stretch out my arms and legs while riding on my X8, can't do that on Adiva. Still not used to the roof, knocked my helmet couple of times when mounting / dismounting :cheeky:

I noticed the 'boot' can be adjusted. When the boot is closed, if you see some gaps between the case and the rubber, water will seep in. Check out the hinges of the boot and you'll see 4 ellen nuts (2 per hinge) for u to loosen and adjust. The default setting of mine left some gaps when closed. So I adjusted mine.

No chance to test heavy rain yet. Probably need to get side deflector. Confirm Mah selling?

Bro Rac, do take note of this valuable advice from Bro big4rider. :)

Yep. I agree. Those cement type flooring usually found in multi-storey carparks are terrible. Also those painted markings on the roads, like those arrows and lines are very slippery. I once skidded and buang during a bend on a wet road, was too fast lah. Painful and expensive lesson.

Posted

It can be very hard to avoid a fall when we 'hit' and oil patch, especially on a wet surface - slipped twice at the same spot in the basement carpark (supposedly coated with non-slip material) at home and I was travelling

I just changed my handle grip. The original ones that come with bike is lousy. Too sticky (personal preference) and doesn't absorb vibration. I went to Piaggio and bought X8 grips, $10/pair, perfect fit. Much better quality. Less vibration on the hands. I also installed the X8 end weights.

Very nice handle grip yopu've got there, Rac, now that you've mentioned it - my original left handle grip actually 'melted' after use for one year and i had to change both of them - paid a lot more than what you did :faint:

$10 per pair of grips? how abt the balancers? how much? im wanting to change also. is it difficult to DIY?

No more regrets.

i just realised with the balancers, u can fully turn left or right if u had deflectors installed.

Actually total damage is $38+.

Grips - $10

Weights - $24

Screw for the weights - $2

GST - $2+

You're right. Not sure if the balancer will affect the side deflectors. Anyway, can also use smaller, shorter balancer if it is a problem.

If don't want the balancer, just the grips alone is cheap.

I bought the stuff from Piaggio and went to my usual mechanic 'Botak' to fix. Not that difficult but need compressed air to assist in putting on the grips. The throttle side balancer does not fit perfectly, need to add some washers. Slot them in and tighten with ellen key will do.
