Hi guys, can anyone enlighten me as to what the advantages and disadvantages of having a open pod air filter. Using it on a Honda NSR150SP. Thanks!

Open pod would mean more frequent cleaning. Engine sound will also be more pronounced, feel like it has gained a few HP although it has not. Like KeraKing has mentioned, you gain WOT at the expense of low end performance.

 

You should also increase your jetting to maintain the ideal air/fuel ratio otherwise you risk running it too lean, and difficulty during cold start.

 

Fuel consumption would increase proportionately to bigger jets.
