Queries about motorbike insurance

I am 19years old P-Plate and I want to buy a sport bike and the insurance costs $1200.

If i share the bike and put my elder brother whom has 6years of experiences as the main rider whereby i'm the sub rider. Is the insurance for me will still it be that high ?

insurance now is based on the youngest rider in the policy. so if u added your brother in, price will still be calculated based on u.

$1200/- is indeed expensive. I think what (TS) you mean by 'Adding' his brother name is; to let him be the rightful Owner of the bike & he becomes a Sub-rider. This way, it might be cheaper.

hmm i think even if he sub rider, the insurance will also increase once he is added as sub rider. isnt that what everyone's been saying? oh ya i heard NTUC insurance can pay by installment without interest. correct me if im wrong

i successfully pulled off that trick when i bought and insured my current class 2 bike, but i can confirm that they have since changed the policy such that the premium is calculated based on the most expensive among the rider and named sub-rider(s). so there is no longer any point to it, whoever's name is the owner or main rider, they will charge based on the most expensive fella.

i think different companies different price. but since p plate with no experience, everywhere about the same one. not much variation i think. but anyway guys, insurance with NTUC can pay by installments with no interest?

experience do not really load the premium.. but your age matters..

 

if you dun wanna pay so much for insurance, get a "lower risk" bike like T135 or X1R..
