Hi,

couldn't find this topic on the search button so might as well post it.

Planning on getting a cub to get to work.(license still working on it.)

Need to work out an estimated safe amount of money so i can get 1 as soon as i pass.

Mainly transport purposes as i planning to study part time while working at the same time. More time to OT saving on transport time. Peak hours traffic jam, so this is the best way(although dangerous) to avoid getting to school late.

Looking for a 2nd hand cub that has around 2-4 years COE left. Not into looks but only into machine reliability and power to maneuver through the lanes. (till the time i graduate)

Looking to take on installment plan from shop or COI from other people.

Insurance is a killer as i just pass will be more ex. But i 21 already.

21 P plate gt cheaper den 18 P plate?

Need some money for basic servicing after taking over.

Don't wanna go buy bike then find out insurance premium exceed budget. Or take over already suddenly die no money back up for repairs. Or unexpected admin fees?(so many hidden clauses nowadays.)

Hope i am not expecting too much.

Your constructive comments are deeply appreciated.

coe 2-4 years? only bike i could think of is, wave. r/s and Spark Z

so far ive only seen spark with at least an FBA plate.

X1 with FX/FZ plate.

X1r FBB.

id go with wave if i were you, its reliable. if you dont mind despite it being an 'ah pek' bike but hey your not into the looks.

and yes 21 yrs old got other options instead of just NTUC for insurance. try asking axa/mitsui for a quote.

servicing, just change engine oil, tighten the chain, spark plug every now and then.

for me, i change my EO every month, depends on you since 4 stroke our piston is using EO, whereas 2 stroke (125z) relies on 2t. as for pricing, can range between 15-40 bucks for servicing.

ps: the new lagenda 125 looks wicked, i doubt singapore willl bring in the bike rite?

thats true. personally im 173cm/65kg, and its already funny. unless your not big/medium size built.

be prepared though, your legs will give in eventually cause of the bending. you should try sitting on a cub first and see if its comfortable enough.

down payment dun include insurance right?

Anything above your loan amount from the price of the bike are down payment. Insurance & transfer fee (if u are getting a used bike) are excluded, which u need to pay too.
