a fren of mine has asked me to fix up his R1 with the following:

steering cone (heard snapping sound during hard braking on track)

K&N air filter (for better performance)

steel braided brake hose for front (for hard braking??)

racing pads for hard braking (more heat resistant??)

steering damper (preventing handle bar wobbling coming out of corner)

racing clutch plates (hard to shift gears now)

original R1 saddle (present saddle too tall n sticky - cannot flip over fast enuf in chicanes)

not being a sportsbike rider i hope to get some input from experienced sportsbikers here before i send the bike into the mechanic's....

 

1. steering cone ...cone bearing & front wheel bearing might be worn, need to be replaced.

 

2. k&N Air filter ... to certain extend

 

3. Steel braided hose.. when during tracking, brake fluid get heated up and by using a braided hose, u reduce heating to certain extend.

 

4. race pads ... pad compound provide better braking power and pad will not over heat easily

 

5. clutch plates ... i tink u need new ones

 

6. saddle ... flip or dun flip easily, depends on riding style or suspension settings, nothing to do with seat height.

 

7. steering damper ... it helps to a certain extend.

Heard some news 2 K7s had already installed AKRA dual slipon, one carbon, the other titanium, one blue/white, the other black/orange...
