helo...dun't mind me askin...

i'm ridin R1-07....a few times it happened, while riding (usually hapens after heavy rain), my engine will auto died off when I clutch in to drop gear...any idea wats the prob..?

on a serious note..

gucci had the same stalling problems.

he sent it back to HL and it was rectified after 2 days..

Grave65 said it might be due to the slipper clutch..

someone mentioned that it could also be ECU probs..

 

These are what i remember seeing online..

Though might not be accurate..

hi werxbabe,this engine stalling is a prob that has yet to be rectified by the guys at Hong Leong. happened to be a number of times but the guys at HL dont seem to know the root cause. currently they are experimenting by changing the ECU for one of their customers. that customer is the guinea pig one. meanwhile wat u can do is make ur problems known to hong leong so that its within the warranty period and if there is any recall or solution they will call u first since they have ur particulars.

 

some things u can try to not have the problem again:

1)dun clutch in for too long when downshifting ur gear. i think it happens when u drop from gear 3 to 2 and gear 2 to 1 only rite? and at a very slow speed..am i right? i take it that due to wet weather u hold onto ur clutch and go into free gear for too long?

 

2) use brakes to slow down and npt engine braking.. i.e brake until slow speed and then down gears all at once to the correct gear.

 

this is wat i have been doing and so far so good.

but i would say despite the problems that the 07model has, it still is a VERY good ride. no regrets.. very much faster!

more torquey...think pickup would be faster i guess..well tats wat i feel.. but 3-6k rpm sucks for the 07 model.

hmm.. track ridden ?about 2-3 track sessions.minus away ride there and back. and some occasional riding in sg. think should be about 400km of track session .

actually wan to Play tat day but when on the way there my fren got a minor accident and delay our timing to reach PG, but reach PG already quite late liao so nv PLay only got time to watch the 5 lap race...
