anyone experience loss of power when cruising and holding at about 4-5K rpm, sudden loss of power than if throttle harder the bike suddenly surge..on k8 gixxers..

there's a few possibilities. do u fix pc and exhaust? one possibility would be your 02 sensor, reading of air fuel ratio. another possibilty is ur fuel pump. injector maybe only, unless u have gone thru injector cleaning or sumthing like that, cos injectors normally dun get dirty or needs cleaning unless ur bike is quite old. it's rare la i mean, wont say for certain.

 

how i would go about checking would be, i go service my air filter and get my shop to check if my tank dirty. that should fix or let me know if possibilities are within my filter/fuel pump. if all ok but problem still persist, i'll get my o2 sensor check, or remove it, just block it and tune the bike's afr properly. if problem still persist, then might just wanna get the shop to take a peek at the injector heads.

thanks rose, mine's a k8 750 fully stock except bmc filter, it was running well the past year until recently. My suspicion falls on the O2 sensor after reading this http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193494, so was wondering if any other kakis have had the same issues. From what I understand, its either replace the O2 sensor or get a PC to eliminate the issue, also my FC has dropped from 20km/l to 17 km/l which leads me to think it is AF ratio being affected through the o2 sensor. The FI light does not show any error, suzuki USA seem to acknowledge this problem and offer free o2 replacement, but not in singapore which sucks..and my warranty is over already..

 

would installing a PC reap any other benefit for a stock bike even if it solves the o2 problem?

bro mine also have and i found out my timing chain cause the sound so i buy manual cam tensioner so i could tighten the chain

to me pc would tune ur bike to the setting it need or to the user demand. recommented to install if u have after market air filter and exhaust or other think that do changes to ur air/fuel input and output? cux no matter wad u change, ur bike is still going on stock setting?

if ur bike runs on stock settings other than the air filter, dun waste money i guess on the pc. i'd rather just replace the o2 sensor. or u could replace the o2 sensor with a plug/nut to block-out the hole, and get ur trusty mech to disable the o2 wiring head from the ecu. this way ur bike will still run on stock settings no matter wat, and the afr wont keep readjusting cos there's no o2 reader to keep feeding back values.
