Did some reading up and I'd like to share with you all. The GIPro w ATRE is a gear indicator cum Advanced Timing Retard Eliminator.

Basically what I've learnt from Wikipedia.org...

The Timing Retard Eliminator (TRE) is an electronic device that fools the engine control unit (ECU) of a motorcycle into thinking the gearbox is always in 4th or 5th gear and avoids the ECU retarding the ignition timing. The retardation reduces power and is done to limit partial throttle opening power in the lower gears (to prevent inexperienced riders from pulling wheelies) and acts as a speed limiter (300 km/h / 186 mph) of the motorcycle. This is very common on Suzuki sport bikes. Kawasaki also have a similar system. The modulation of the ignition curve varies from model to model as well as make. They do not usually provide any additional power overall but can increase top speed by preventing the ECU from seeing the 6th gear, where it would activate an earlier rev limiter. They may also reduce the hesitation or stumble of the engine when coming off idle.

Most TRE's are indicated for "off road/race use" only. They may violate local emissions and other requirements.

'Smart' TRE's switch off when the bike is shifted into neutral. This removes the rough idling which can occur when using a normal TRE.

I've downloaded the User Manual And discovered the recommended setting for GSX-R1000 is 5th Gear Map. I'm gonna ride later with the ATRE off and return home with the ATRE on and compare the differences.

u will not feel any difference. perhaps u may think u feel. if u dun ride ur bike hard on the lower gears, opening hard on the throttle after a turn, u will not feel the timing peaks. many riders remove this tre feature bcos they want immediate response n power right after a turn, but they also know their bikes well to control that spike as not to lose control or slip. why suzuki n kawa places this in their bikes in the first place is a mean of safety feature. so that riders dun encounter the sudden spike or surge in the timing, thus the slight gradual lag.

so quiet... so quiet... anyway, how does a back protector protects you? from road rash? If from road rash, which is abrasive, then wouldn't the suit leather be enough to protect u? Or it protect from impact force?

its more for impact..spine and taill bone...also if you can get a chest protector...will protect from front impact if handle bars or any part of the bike hits your chest area...

RJAY PROTECTORS ARE NOT I SAY AGAIN CE APPROVE LEVEL 2, WHICH THE MIMNUM FOR IMPACT PROTECTION!!

SORRY , BUT ME GONNA BE ST8 FORWARD, THOSE WHO NVR CRASH BEFORE ON TRACK, WILL NOT REALLY UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANTS FOR GOOD RELIABLE PROTECTORS.

protection on bike is 1 things...and bike can always repair...body NO REPAIR...LOL

Chill man, relax. Straight forward is good, because when it comes to safely, safely timeout can be call by anyone anywhere anytime. (saf)

I haven't got the rjays back protector yet. Intend to get one because my protection all rjays except my helmet. They probably fit better and I have more comfort because they are all the same brand. I did some research, apparently, most manufacture they never mention the level 1/2 protection level, they mostly say in vague, "CE APPROVED". That's all.

"Level 1 protectors: The average peak force recorded below the anvil in the tests shall be below 18 kN, and no single value shall exceed 24 kN.

Level 2 protectors: The average peak force recorded below the anvil in the tests shall be below 9 kN, and no single value shall exceed 12 kN."[2]
