1. how does alarms work/what trigers the activation of the beeps ?

2. what is 1 way and 2 way alarm?

3. can i get a alarm that is less than 100 which works well, last long and if yes, where do i find them?

4. if alarms are not controlled by remote, how are they controlled by?

5. what if you armed your ride and next morning ur remote cant work or remote's batt flat?

6. wad are the disadvantages of having an alarm?

i appreciate your help and apologies as i have no knowledge on alarms except for the fact tt it rings. please help me

1) usually bumps/shock/tilt, but some models have a movement sensor as well. however not really practical for sg, as our bikes parked very close together.

2) 1 way - remote talk to alarm only. that is, if alarm is triggered, you won't know if u are not in the area.

2 way - remote talk to alarm and alarm can talk back to remote. e.g. when triggered, if you are in range, the remote will beep as well.

3) can't really answer this question. i think SPY 2 way at $130 or so is not too bad ba.

4) don't quite get what you mean, but scorpio has a few RFID alarms which disarm themselves when you get nearby. thus saving you the trouble of pressing buttons.

5) errr, try not to let this happen. some alarms got method of bypassing without the remote, but you still need to endure the "pai-seh"-ness of having the alarm go off while u stand beside...

6) not really any disadvantages ba. it still won't prevent people from upping your whole bike onto lorry, but it'll deter at least casual thieves and kids who like to sit on your bike.

My bike is stock! Please don't jio me!

because all the alarm can do is make noise... it doesn't anchor your bike to the ground... after they reach their workshop or what, all alarm can be easily removed... remember it's just a deterrent, it's not a replacement for physically securing the bike (especially when up north).

oh, to add on, some alarms also monitor your ignition key circuit, if you turned on the key/start the bike without disarming the alarm will also go off. sometimes this is paired with ignition kill.

the function of this is, when the alarm goes off, it will cut off the ignition after a short while, thus stopping the engine. this is to prevent people who stole your key from simply riding off.

i used to install an alarm on my bike. i removed after a few months because:

1) the sensor was just not good enough. it detects motion/vibration. at lower settings, i have to purposely land my butt heavily on the seat before it triggered. at its higher settings, wind blow and the alarm goes off.

2) it drains electricity from the batt like nobody's business.

maybe coz the alarm i bought was cheap and more expensive alarms dont have these probs, altho i do recall a british bike mag commenting that prob (2) above is indeed common with bike alarms.

my belief is disc lock at rear tyre coupled with canvass works best. locking rear disc really hinders moving your bike.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

hey, if the battery is drained how do you charge it again

ride your bike to charge it.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

push start - put in ur key , turn to on , engage to second gear , clutch in , push , release clutch and turn throttle at same time , repeat till bike start , this does not apply on auto bike

Pimp my bike and I'll pimp your ride 😜

Add a bit of pointers too, don't full throttle or you might risk doing an instant wheelie... If you can push start alone (eg. slope or has strong legs) good for you.. If not, might wanna ask for help in pushing your bike to gain momentum or your bike won't start.
