thats why middleweight bikes are perfect for both highway and urban streets.

i highly reconmend the street triple from Triumph(not the bra). but thats because i am biased, and love unique bikes.

not because it was given great ranking by numerous magazines, is smaller in size, has fantastic power for all occasions and is novice friendly.

if you do consider it, wait a while more, new facelift model is coming soon.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

The fact is, large capacity bikes (we're talking 600cc and above) suck in general for city commuting.

With slow moving traffic, jams, low travelling speed, you'll have that machine of yours starting to toast your fishballs pretty soon.

A small commuter bike is always better. Kup kia, scooter, etc etc.

The big bikes are best on the open road, up North, munching up the miles.

Too bad there's no real all around bike. Everything's a compromise.

For me if I can only own one bike, I'll just stick to my literbike just for the grins and frak-me factor.

But I am looking for a little commuter scooter.

Gilera Runner looks pretty and is quick enough for street riding... I see them often and they are just pleasant to the eye and ear.

How much are those? and what would be the maintenance bill?

Cheers!

How much do you need to earn a month to own a class 2 bike ? Very good question, very much depends on which bike you choose, let say you take PB1 CB1000 or YZF-R6 (2004) would be cheap judging from the previous sales they ranging from 7k and below (subjective)... (*depends on your down payment) your monthly installment could be less than 200SGD...

Actually it's not the machine price that kills. Most ppl are reasonably adept at calculating their instalments.

It's the running n hidden costs that kills. Have they factored in maintenance, parking, and (the killers) any potential crash repairs and next insurance?

maintenance is about 3-3.5 times compared to a 2b, basing on just EO change.

parking is the same..

the killers are actually the insurance, and the potential repair bills should you crash. :faint:

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

Yes, thanks for the highlight... its how to maintain it that "kills"!

Rule is simple, just access your finance and decide if its gonna work for you.
