Hi, recently i acidentally dash through a red light. I was coming to a junction, where i saw a car from opp direction intending to turn, then i did not notice that traffic light was coming to red, i try to slow down but won't made it before the stop line unless i jam my brake ( which i dont dare anymore since i skidded once when jam on rainy day ), thus i slow down enough to let the car finish the turn before i shoot past red light and cross the junction

I know it's my mistake to dash past the red light, but what is done cant be changed, thus here i'm asking, im a p plate, got my license for about half a year, i believe it's gonna be a 12 demert point + fine...the question is, is it a straight revoke or?

I belive i saw a camera in a box which is on a tall pole..GG.com

I urge all other rider, focus on the road and ON e traffic light, dont be like me zzz..thx for the help in advance

did you see the flash? if you saw the flash means you kenna. if not you are safe.anyway,it is not a straight revoke case. you would get 12 demerit points and fine. means you still can ride your bike but left with 1 point to spare until your p plate comes to an end. my advice to you is if you did kenna do not ride till your p plate is over. it is too risky.

Do you mean that junction coming down PIE? If not, speed wise, you should't be travelling that fast.

Yeah, as what Maja had mentioned. The flash means that its a 12 pointer and a fine but unless that is you have a clean record, else, it'll be a revoke. During the probational period, you have 13 points to deduct.

Anyway, if you left with 1 point. Either you "quit" riding for the moment but I don't think that'll happen, so riding safely and be aware of the speed restrictions. Resist the thrill of speed!

You can afford to deduct until zero point during your probation period. But this zero point will last you 1 year from the date of offence. After 1 year from the date of offence, THEN you will restart the probation with 12 points for another 1 year.

correction, there's no 1pt left in TS's case if he kena. he'll be left with 0 point, that's some misconception of many drivers. 1 year u get 12 pt, not 13. a driver with 0 point can still drive a vehicle, however any minor mistake and ur license will revoke (not sure parking included). in TS's case, if he get summoned, it's 1yr after the offence date he get back 12pt, not until P plate end.

@kan0n, just appeal and describe your situation to the officer, if they are able to see the car turn in the photo, it'll be very useful and they might let u off with lighter sentence. anyway good luck and be extra careful on the road. :)

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Bro, just to point out. Only Probation driver/rider can afford to deduct until zero point and still able to drive or ride. However if you are not under probation, with zero point, you are straight away suspended or revoke depending on your offence. Cheers.

noted, but i'm not too sure of that; reason being most cases where the driver got 0 point and suspended/revoked is TP add in another charge like reckless driving which cost 3 point. it's all case by case basis, and how the officer judge it.

1. u ski before and yet still go fast

2. u did not slow down while nearing a junction

3. even if u kanna , u can forget about appealing at TP HQ

because the IO will say

1. u are speeding hence u canot slow down in time to a complete stop

2. refer to number 1

3. no flash and nothing means mostly nothing unless got officer in plain clothes note down yr number and time of incident,

always slow down when reaching juntion or a normal traffic light.

this is OT, ppl get irritated if the vehicle in front taps brake to slow down when nearing a traffic light with green lights and the path in front of the vehicle is cleared at least 20m. this happened to me this morning, and from far i've noticed the lights went from red to green moments ago, and the speed of the vehicle wasn't very fast.
