Anyone want to wakeboard tmr? First timers welcomed too.

me very very long never wakeboard liao....at least 1 year i think

but the best is still malaysia...cant remember the name of the cove thou...super calm waters...juz 45 mins boat ride from singapore

I am member of SAFYC at Sewbawang, so can get wakeboard package if there is no other lobang.

This friday afternoon no problem for me.

 

wakeboarding package - opppsss, I means I get the wakeboarding session from my club if others can not find 1.

 

Afterall, wakeboarding package is standard - the shop will supply all equpiment needed to practice for beginners.

 

I think SAFYC use ProAir, not too sure lah...

 

ez_s_abc: It is up to you to join friends you know at Sebana cove, or join me to see how I mass up

actually $150 for sebana quite ex leh...last time i went...only paid slightly over $100 for 1 whole day...went during the nite..spend the nite there and starting wakeboarding early in the morning till evening...

 

ali...how much does it cost for a 2 hours session at sembawang??? 3 hours how much? if not too ex...3 of us go okay liao..have more time to ourselves...

the group from sebana i don't know them either.

they must have gotten my email from the 'singapore wakeboard' website. they going down with William Water Sports and the boatman is Suter....

 

i don't mind riding anywhere as long there is a session this Friday cause the other group more or less confirm, nothing concrete here so far...so have to check...

might be a cheap way to try to 'stand' compare to WB i guess..

but if there's weekend ride, plz inform mi..

The rate here is usually about $80 per hour, regardless of how many pp. so I do not think $150 for whole day at Sabana Cove is too much. However, beginners should not go for whole day, and those who wakeboard before will know why, unless there are many pp, or you are experence.

 

Another thing, a ride to Sabana Cove from JB or GP take almost 2 hours, and coming back with aching body for another 2 hours - hmmm...who do not mind

 

Thus I suggest we wakeboard locally first. Let meet for light lunch together before we go for wakeboard. Wakeboard with hungry stomach kill the fun. The lunch also give us time to digest food and to know one another, and more important. to lead those who do not know the way.

 

Kristy - you suggest a place & time for us to meet for makan etc. This will determine when we wakeboard.

 

More important - where we are going to wakeboard - SAFYC at Sebawang or Punggol Marina? Either place is fine with me but I only have contacts at SAFYC, with a bit discount.

Poor shower and toliet facilites are major drawback, and easily spoil the fun mood. So I rule Loyang & Sengkang out. No point save money on important & proper facilities.

 

Pasir Ris Park is still OK, although the sea there is not suitable for wakeboarding, especially inexperience pp.

 

I doubt you can use Ponggol Marina shower facilites unless you are a customer of tenant of the Marina or a member. This is standard club rules in most places. Also, Ponggal Marina do not allow outsider to board their marina. I tried that before. Outsider can only top up fuel.

 

Very important, we can not just ride any private boat to Sabana Cove like the way we ride to JB everyday. Port clearance need to be done at least 3 days before arrival. As such, if it is by private operator recommended by ez_s_abc, the session must be in local water.

 

All result of using my PPCDL.

 

The rate is at SAFYC is $80-105 for weekdays, depend on you want new boats or do not mind older boats. As member, I can get 10% discount.

 

So can we decide where to wakeboard first? Then we decide where to makan for lunch before setting off.

i dun mind older boats...what i mind is who's the boatman...they are the ones who make the difference...old or new boats makes no difference to the wake what...

Since the lady has spoken, let try SAFYC. I shall do the booking.

 

I suggest we meet at a coffee shop for light makan before going to SAFYC, then there will be not lost sheep.

 

Any makan place is all right with me, except CBD. I do not want to waste $$$ on ERP.

 

so what time & where to meet? I need to know these before I can do the booking hor...

 

At the moment, only 3 of us (alidavidsum, ez_s_abc, kristy) confirm going. Any1 else I miss out?

If you have no experience in WB, then 2 hours sessions is usually good enough.

 

Also, more pp will means cheaper for every1. For beginners, 2 hours for max 5 pp is all right.

As it I find it strange that we can sit on any pri boat from any SG Jetty to Sabana, and WB on the same boat.

 

Anyway, as beginner, need not to go so far lah... Go to Sebana only if you want to do advance jump lah...

 

Of course, we can ttry willima's sport next time.
