The F800ST, they are calling it a VFR killer.

Thought of getting a VFR in future, but the F800ST seems like a good alternative, i cant seem to find any negative reviews on the net as yet.

any actual owners here care to share if the bike is really as gd as it seems?

the only concern i have for the F800 is the fairing...although i am not exactly tall but i am too used with adjustable winscreen

Was very excited about the F800ST after I read about it in Bike.

But I got really put off after knowing the PML price for this bike. It's about $33k if I'm not mistaken.

It's definitely a VFR-killer, but the price here will kill you too.

Ya, for that price can get any other bikes in the same middleweight class liao.

But i dunno, after reading thru the specs and such, there are quite a few things that seems to justify the cost.

--belt driven: virtually maintenance free, high mileage.

--ABS: not sure but its seems like its the only middle weight cls to have it?

--low FC.

--touring inclined: got panniers included! (I'm a panniers fan)

and then its a BMW, so there's definitely some kind of prestige, so it should retain its value better.

But I seriously am a noob when it comes to belt system, I understand that some Harley uses them cos it really gives a smoother power delivery, but can they really last longer than chains?

Just took over a '01 R1100RT 2 weeks ago. Would like to check with fellow Beemer owners here regarding servicing of the bike. Besides PML, where else is good for normal maintenance/servicing?

Previous owner did his servicing at Looi's. Also heard about Combine and Stamford. Any experience to share?

Thanks. :)
