Cfm its the brake pad, I can "play" with the pads in the calipers :D

the spring is for model 2001 and up ie BMW calipers, those older model using the brembo calipers dont have the spring as part.

I will check with m-tech when doing servicing and update again :-)

cfm its the spring clip on the pads... no matter says the mech, just go back to mtech when the current pad worn out and change for a spring clipped ones... :thumb:

Just back from KL. Just want to share the mileage thingy; speeds ranging between 110 km/h to 150/h measured on GPS, mileage returned was about 20.5 km/l. Probably cos' mostly highway cruising, only about 30 km city riding.

Ohlins were great, but front still near bottomed out over higher bumps; figured I need to tighten up the spring's pre-compression.

Cheers

Hi Cat,

Did you cross checked with the speed indicated on the speedo? What is the error of the speedo comparing to the reading shown on your GPS?

From what I can see, about 10% slower on the speedo. Pretty normal for vehicles.

Cheers

Thanks, this day and age, gotta monitor. Seriously, fuel consumption is also one of the ways of monitoring a bike's health, usually points to some problems if consumption is poor.

My scooter's average consumption is now on par with my beast's highway consumption. I reckon it is the aftermarket exhaust on the scooter and the fact that i tend to rev it more.

Phang, have you changed your crossover from stock to Y-Pipe? this is one of the better mods to do; saves weight and better power delivery.

Mine came with staintune collector box and low mount muffler/can/silencer. The headers and crossover pipes are stock, fuel consumption quite consistent for the past 3 tank-ful of petrol at 17 to 18km/l

Pretty much that for city riding.

So how are you getting used to the servo brakes? keke, trust me, it'll save your skin when you have to use it in a hurry.

I have yet to try the servo brake full potential (hopefully not), I made a quick stop before a traffic light 2 days ago and the negative g force generated by those calipers were tremendous. It was only a slightly heavier than usual 2 fingers pull . No drama, very minimum front end dive and the bike stopped itself in a graceful and well composed way with a shocking rider on it.

You only got to watch the low speed braking but it can be mastered over more hours on the bike...

Posted

That’s very true :thumb: as the fear of dropping the bike at my car park is greater than dropping the bike at high speed. The bike is as stable as an oil tanker at high speed but slow speed maneuvering really need some practice with the brake, engine brake, driveline lash, clutch and throttle.

Talking abt clutch....have you mastered the 0.5 inch clutch movement I was trying to explain to you during gear shift? That will greatly prolong the clutch life... as well as a damn smooth ride...

Posted

Oh yes, I found that instead of pulling the clutch level all the way back, the gear change (up shift/down shift) is much more smoother with your method. Every time I ride this bike, I will chant the following 10 times on my mind before I start the engine:

“Press instead of pull” (the clutch)

“Left is left, right is right, right thumb up cancel, left thumb up honk honk”

“Servo assisted brakes, be gentle to the brake level”

I think Perfection do occasionally sell some pre-loved machines for their customers. Dunno whether they bring in first hand ones.
