R1150R has partially integrated brakes. Squeezing front brake level, the brake servo will activate front and rear wheel braking circuits. Step on rear brake pedal only active the rear wheel circuit:cool:

this what i read too, that why I'm asking, coz the front rather cool. its not even warm, while the rear seem rather hot. maybe another reason why previous owner change the rear disk as the front one seem still like original.

Hi Coolcat,

Mine does not have the overdrive 6th gear and I believe at 90km at 5th, it is about 3.5-6k rpm. 4.1k rpm equals to 110km/h on the speedometer. I kind of feel that my speedometer is exaggerating the speed as 110km/h on my bike feels slow. If the speedo is true, then the bike must have good stability at this kind of speed to give me the slow impression.

I'm a stock rider. Prefer to keep equipment in stock condition as I believe that each bike was designed to perform in its own way and I intend to experience what the bike designers have intended.

Anyway those were just feedback on the R1100R, not complains. Human beings are very versatile creatures with great ability to learn and adapt. The fun about riding and experiencing different bikes is about learning to appreciate the difference in machine design and performance.

its should be actual speed. had compare the speedometer of my R1150R with GPS below 120km/h , its very close.

Maybe the integrated brake system will give priority to the rear brake first when we pull the front brake level, front brakes only come into action when we brake harder.

I just changed my rear disc/rotor and pads. Like your bike, the front pads and discs/rotors still have plenty of “meat” to go

i think you're right, and the reason maybe to prevent unnecessary front dive during hard braking. although the front suspension design do handle this prob. but so far i'm braking slowly, no sudden braking.

In fact, most of the time I just roll the throttle off and the strong engine brake will slash a big chunk of speed. I spent an hour rode around the island today, KJE - BKE - SLE - TPE - ECP - AYE…. shiok:cool:

Drawing on the experiences of you fellas; anyone have tried HH and non-HH pads on the same bike; is the difference in braking really so much as to ignore the non-HH ones and only buy the HH ones?

Cheers

H-H i think a bit overkill with assisted servo brake. It might have similar effect to your braided brake hose. Had try H-H rating brake pad, but not on BMW bike. Good grip, and the best part is it eat your rotor (disk) evenly. I even use it to "repair" my uneven rotor surface, but take note, I didnt say warp rotor. Never try, so unable to comment. No need to change both, front will do as mostly used are front braking or combine, rather than rear alone. Previous bike is Blackbird, with CBS (combined brake system).

Yes bro.. It is in the neutral gear.. I cant kick to any gear as well.. When i crank it, the time, fuel gauge, temperature goes lights out and back on.. The time will be reset back to 0:00.. Subsequent cranking produce a ticking sound..

Oooh.. No choice then.. Will have to tow to PML.. Recent overhaul was done by PML as well.. Well cant blame them.. Maybe not possible for them to foresee a weak battery.. Haiz..
