Thanks dude, I actually found one prior to posting here with a much more reasonable price for 1:24. Looking to find locally first.

Thanks, didn't know they have it. Will take a look.

Hi guys, really appreciate if any of you could share with me the answers to my questions.

You guys are the seniors that i read and look up too..as you know gettin a BMW bike is everyone's dream, and it's mine too. At the end of this mth, i have a chance to realise that dream but i need some clarification and this is where you guys expertise and experience come in handy..i intend to get a GS from a parallel importer (you guys should know who) he is qouting me 39k otr which come with two side plastic panniers. The price is fine with me, i would like to ask is

1) Is there any other than pml that does servicing and repairs?

2) After every servicing, is it true that the engine requires some setting done by a

system and only pml has it?

Just need you guys to be frank with me on the CONS from getting a bike from a

parallel importer, i don't want my dream to be a LIVING NIGHTMARE!

Really hopping to hear some views and i definitely will meet and have a ride up with you guys when my bike is out..cheers!

Yes, I got the software updated in KL Auto Bavaria. For simple things like Valveclearance, brake fluid change, brakepad, i choose to do myself.

2) After every servicing, is it true that the engine requires some setting done by a system and only pml has it?

Not true, only certain problem need the com to reset. Normal servicing no need.

To be honest to you, BMW bike, especially the GS series are meant for easy maintainence. Most of the things can be done by ourself with proper toolings.

You just have to get over the mindset that you are messing around with a bloody expensive bike and if you make any major mistake, just prepare for more money.

Another thing to note is that, because it is a PI bike, you wont have much many shops to choose to go.

Not a idea way for not kanna "carroting". :cheeky:

But imho... a 2-3k difference in price should not stop me from buying straight from PML because of the 2 yrs warranty etc... Should a recall (touchwood) or anything big ever happens alot of PI bike will be in trouble again.

just my 0.005cents thinking:cheeky:

Agreed... no point getting a P.I bike unless it really save you alot of cash, say like 5k or more...

Guys a big THANK YOU for your opinions, really appreciate it.Yes even for me 1-3k does not make a big difference unless it was more than 5k.Another thing as you guys have said, if anyting happens to the bike,it gona be troublesome and uses alot of $$ as well.

Harley Inspection

I thought original Harley exhaust is loud enough? It sounds louder than a lot of after-market pipes already. Yet some still spend money on Screaming Eagle pipes and what-not. I guess they won't be satisfied until their rides are as LOUD as F-15s.

Don't get me wrong. I personally love the Harley sound. Yes, they are loud. But the boomz ;) is low and rich enough not to be (too) irritating. But anything louder is over-kill, IMHO.

The RXZ and other modified 2-strokers are a different story. Their sharp BLAT-BLAT-BLAT is a real PITA. Especially when those young punks deliberately blast their *******ized machines (I wouldn't call these craps bikes) past residential areas in the middle of the night.

They give a bad name to the biking community and I don't feel sorry when these get booked. My complaint is that there are still far too many of these smelly, polluting **** on the roads.

GSA Scale Model

One site selling 8 pounds and the other 60 pounds? What gives? Both 1:24 right?

Parallel vs PML

My heart hopes more people will buy PI so that PML will be forced to review their pricing and marketing strategies. But my conscience says it's not worth taking the risk for a bit of savings. Relatively speaking, of course.

Hi Brembo, what is that thing you put on the crash guard to stop the spark plug cover from falling off?
