How tall are you? I can toe the ground too .. uncertain if i shd change the seat... me also intending to get a GSA next yr

Hi everyone, I need advice for low seat since I intend to get the 1200gs adv early next

year. My toes can reach the ground on GS but I can only guess i can will be dangerously tip toeing on only one leg on a GS adv.

I'm looking at Touratech Comfortable, high end seat silver extra low R1200GS

Kahedo Line (055-1526) which will cost me including shipping SGD$523.24

Height 48 cm measured from the (original) footrest (removable foot rest rubbers not included) vertically to the lowest point of the seat.

Anyone have experience with this item?

Thanks in advance.

Go to M-teknik. The price my friend paid for his Kahedo low seat is MUCH lower than what you stated.

And once you do purchase the Kahedo, put your stock seat up for sale on Ebay. It can fetch quite a handsome price. Make sure you shrink wrap it up the very day you collect your bike, bring your Kahedo along immediately use it on bike so your stock seat remains brand new and unused.

That's what I would do. ;)

Im 1.7m and with my legs spread apart the height from the floor to my crouch is

0.78m(not tall at all). Anyway i was told the 2012 gs adv will only be available around

march next year. I wonder if its possible to try the BMW low seat at pml during test ride before purchasing the gs adv. Should the gs adv with low seat is not low enough for me to ride safely, i would consider the gs instead...

Hi bro.. Just fyi, im at 1.7m too. 1.71m to be exact. Im riding a gsa too and got no problems with it. The gsa standars stock seats are adjustable to 2 settings Low and High.

I put it to High and i tip toe when stationary. Not a full tip toe but about nearly half the palm of ur feet on the ground. To me its still within control.

At Low setting im FULL flat on the ground.. But i didn't really like it cos it feels ur empowered by the bike's size and feels like riding a street bike too. I didn't liked it so im on High setting now.

Well to each of his own. Hope it helps.

Finally getting my 2012 GSA this week from PML. Can anyone advise what the first line of accessories I should get on the bike? Am already considering a touratech mesh headlight guard, oil cooler grill guard and mudguard for the rear wheel (but apparently M-technik is out of this for another two weeks). Any other suggestions? No need major zhnging, just the stuff that needs to go on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Most important to get cooler guard, headlight protector, fuel sensor guard and potentiometer.

For now...

The rest depends how big ur wallet is and how itchy ur hands are :thumb:

Hi Kazky,

Mine if I ask whether you're a lady? Because I'm 1.75m and on GSA, i can't flat foot it, that's for sure. Even on the normal GS, I need proper boots to barely flat foot the thing. :p

I wouldn't say its really "per-hour". Your bill will state "labour charges".

IMO, it doesn't and shouldn't matter much. I was prepared for all these things before i bought my bikes.

All those fellas who make helluva noise about these charges, shouldn't be riding Beemers, and should be riding Teneres instead. :thumb:

Hi bro..

May i ask wats the difference between a man and a lady? Well, im a pure man the last time i checked haha.

Yes bro see tat i did mention if i put the seat on Low set, the palm of my foot do touch the ground. To be exact more than 3/4 of it do touch the ground. Can consider near full flat though.

Well of cos on High set, with normal shoes on i'll be on tip toe but still within manageable contact. In riding boots however its touching the upper half of my foot. Using a SIDI On Road boots btw.

The Airflow is a tat heavy compared to other "airflow" light jackets from other brands. I have a Boulder jacket that you may want to look at to see the quality.

Cheers

LOL. Sorry, no disrespect to your manhood :p

Ladies have higher leg-to-body ratio compared to man. ie, they have more legs than us.

Well, the other thing is whether you're using stock shocks and how heavy you load up the bike..... But thanks for the great feedback. Being able to toe the floor is a big must for me to consider the GSA and since PML don't have a GSA for test ride, I'm still quite uncertain about it. Anyway.. I still hv this year to think about it since am only getting it next year.

Ooohh... LOL!! no worries bro. Is it?! I didnt know abt such info abt women. Never really checked though cos we're always at the same height lying down haha LMFAO!!

Well yeah, my shocks are all stock cos it still is good. I used my bike on a daily basis cos can't afford a 2nd bike. Wat i load up everyday are just my top box and inside it are just normal stuff like documentation, raincoat nothing heavy.

My guess if ur at 1.75m u will have no problem watsoever on this bike. U shd only worry abt its weight if ur not used to heavy bikes before. I rode my FJR previously and eventhough on paper GSA is way heavier by abt 20kg, it really is a breeze for me pushing the bike to and fro due to its well engineered CG and engine placement. But of cos in terms of speed u cant match up to the FJR.

Good luck in ur research and find bro.. Its a great overall durable dual purpose bike to go around with. But of course the price can be the initial headache hehe.

Anyone knows what is the price of a R1200RT brand new from PML?

Hi bro, I am at PML now, the R1200RT is going for $44,800 OTR excluding Insurance. The bike got stuff like electronic suspension, cruise control, ABS, ASC, tyre pressure monitor and on board computer. Oh, and audio too, radio and mp3 mode.
