you asking if you buy a USED BMW bike from a bike shop, will PML service?

check the number plate with PML 1st before you buy. I believe they can do that. That is to check whether the previous owner bought a PI or a PML bike.

 

even if its a PI bike, but already adopted by PML, yes you can service there but with extra 25% of the price. If its a PML bike, you can just ride in to service, but of course, it will not be free la.

 

but if u were to buy a use PI bmw bike, u have to pay the adoption fee of $5K.

a note to add

 

quite normal for bmw owners to retain their number plate..in this case get the chassis and engine number and check with PML

This question very loaded.

 

To me "Worth" depends on many factors. If you are talking of market value then of course easier to quantify.

 

If you are talking of parts breaking down etc then it all depends on the previous owner(s).

 

To complicate things the riders of many marques will tell you that there is an X factor.

 

Mind telling us what angle are you looking at so that we can focus on the answer?

To explain better my view I could say that, the price difference of a GSA and Super Tenere in Europe is about Euro 1000-2000. Far cry from the approximate S$15,000 in Singapore. I do not understand why the price of BMW is so expensive here, it does not make sense to me. I would love to own a GSA but so far the price tag still does not make sense me. Almost S$50K for a bike? Nope, not for me.

If one think a 10-year old BMW is expensive, might do well to look at Harleys

 

13K for a 10 year old seems about right if it is a 1150 series. Generally the RTs are more pricey than the GS, lowest are the Roadsters. Accessories like Ohlins, panniers etc also a factor, and so is mileage. Parts that need replacement might be a good bargaining point.

 

I had friends who tried BMW, it worked out for some, but not others.
