Hey max, papa, biker, silver,

Haha chill bros. I aint going for long distance rides with sandals or canvas shoes. that wouldnt even be classified as being ridiculous, its plain mad i say.

I am aware of the safety concerns of riding without proper gears, i have afterall been riding for more than 12 years.

And i'm pretty sure all of us here have done so more often than not (riding in sandals, slippers, berms, tshirt) when zipping around SG but putting safetly aside, i did find it appalling that the heat from the exhaust near the feet can be that extreme so much so that it gets uncomfortable and you have to move your feet out to cool down. I have ridden harleys and it is one hot beast but when you ride, the heat from any part of the bike does not cause any discomfort, unless u touch it of course.

I commute daily to work and wear leather shoes most of the time and i feel the heat when riding the GSA. I can even feel the heat when wearing my most trusted year 2000 SAF boots. Hah! : )

I guess this is an inherent problem with the GSA like Silver said with the exhaust system trapping the heat.

Hmm and talking about exhaust system, are there are LTA approved aftermarket exhaust system for the GSA? Any of you installed it in your bike? This is one upgrade option i am considering.

ARGHH!!!! it never ends! upgrade this, change that....

it your own safety and it up to you how you wanna ride your ride..i have been riding since 1992 and i have never worn slippers to ride, it's part of your riding discipline.

To date, 48 bikes went through my ownership from goldwing to st11 to harley to scooter to i dont even remember some bikes i ever own until i see old photos of it, to me, GS/GSA heat is still not as bad as some of the bikes i owned.

wanna ride with madness?

Read this up :http://www.largiader.com/abs/absfault.html

And you can either bring it to a reputable bike shop for them to reset the ABS for u with their machine and charge u a fee for it or u can try diy-ing the ABS reset using this method :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_BuTA7QsLg

http://www.advrider.com/Wisdom/ABSResetProcedurev1.0.pdf

i did experience the ABS problem on my 1150GS a while ago and had read up a few articles on resetting this way before i try it on my 1150 and it works. i had attached the 1100GS youtube video to make it easier for u.

Disclaimer : i am only trying to help and wun be liable if anything goes wrong.
