I just changed my stator coil & rectifier 2 weeks ago too. Buying a peace of mind for the next few years.

Haha. Actually mine turned out to be a dead battery cell. So...changed battery. Wala. Don't have money to burn on the peace of mind issues yet. Some things are more immediate. Haha. Thanks all!! And specially to Raptor Motorsports for lending me in emergency!!

I believe that 92 can be used as well, but personally I use grade95 90% of the time, and grade98 when I feel like pampering myself and the bike.

def try not to use 92.. i always use 98 then there a a period i tried experimenting to 95, i feel the bike abit more sluggish and eating more petrol than norm so after a month i switch back to 98 and mileage is back up again..got to do with combustion with the higher octanes..errrr mr raptor can enlightened u i think in the scientific aspect of this since he deals with petrol eating jet planes in his hey days..heh

I have been using 95/98 for alternate pump since I gotten my Zee 1.5 months ago, so far so good for consumption & power. Btw, I always pump about 6 liters after traveling about 170km.

Any grade of fuel in south east Asia can be used on DRZ.. It can go as low as Ron 87 as it's not on high compression..

Unless you changed the cams, big bore or strokes kit, minimal Ron 95/98 will be applicable..

IMO, petrol powers the bike, it GST burned up.. No matter what fuel you used also burn..

As long as your engine dun ping, it'll be alright..

Yes, you do get more power with higher Ron and more expensive fuel, but it's a long running cost.. Petrol ain't cheap.. I used Ron 95 all the way when I had my DRZ.. no problems of engine etc..

Thank you for the advice guys! Gonna pump 98 anyway, been using that for all my previous bikes too anyway.

Anyone running on IMS footpegs? Ive been eyeing on the IMS Superstock for months alr. In what way does it benefit the rider other then it being wide? Am i gonna feel a drastic change after spending $90 on it?

Guys,

Just wonder how much the full face helmet (with visor, not the one we need to buy goggles type) cost? Which shops offer a wide range of selection? Last time LAB dont have much choice...

Posted

Those off-road type / motard helmets with visors?

Regina might have a better range, other places u might wanna take a look are chiap lee, chong aik.

Not much range for this kinda helmets when comparing wif full face/open face helmets

Bro ahys,

I see from ur pic that u r using the hnb alu standard topcase. Can I ask how much u paid for it? And the rack too. Is it from hnb too? Can ur topcase fit a helmet and Raincoat? Tks

I'm thinking of getting one too? But can't decide between hnb or sw motech, so hope to get some reviews. Tks

Tks for reply bro.

I'm looking at gobi and xplorer too. But tot that if the topcase is too wide, it might look a bit awkward. Mayb 35-40l topcase suits just nice. Either hnb or sw motech. :)

Mayb will drop by mtechnik to ask. Tks

Hey bro! As u can see in my sig, all my heavy stuffs goes in a tank bag on my pillion seat secured with bicycle netting while the important things that u dont want to get wet goes in the rear.

I never like the idea of overloading the rear box. Always spread the weight evenly, our bikes aint really the heaviest to start with. Cruising at high speed the last thing u want is ur rear to fishtail when u wanna over take a tourbus.

Oh. I've yet to see it for myself. Maybe I'll settle for less also. If the 45 is too big. Probably going on Monday to BT 21. For some reason sw motech, I was quoted is 580 for a 38l.

Pants in the helmet and top beside the helmet.

I have the same top case. Depending on which helmet, I've to "relocate" the raincoat slightly too. Put my bag of folder jacket and pants vertically beside a normal 3/4 with visor.

Quite a nuisance to get off the bike with a box but it is handy to have one ;)

Hey guys sry for interrupting the topic abt storage. Engaging gear usually has that "tuck" sound. But mine sometimes produces a sound like metal to metal contact. More like "ping" when engaging gear one. Happens occasionally. Is this normal for u guys? I dont hear this on my prev bikes. Thanks!!

Bro might be spokes loose. That was the case with mine. When it gt worse, when u coast to a stop in free gear slowly, I felt that the whole rear was shaking about. At first thought was wheel hub. Then after checking, it was the rear wheel spokes. If u free just use some metal stick or sth and knock the spokes one by one. If there are different sounds means the spokes are loose.

Hope this helps
