I will like to ask if anyone out there has any idea as to whether GSX-R stock front Brake rotor (disc) can be replaced by those of another models, or of another brand. Think most of our GK76A brake rotors now more or less off their dowels. Then we get the "clicking" sound whenever we brake.

Any Opinions?

"braking" is a brand for aftermarket rotors... i dunno if motor world carry them... but first motor should be selling them... another alternative i've seen... (not confirmed if they'll be side effects) are rotors from the hurricanes

May I ask, if I am hunting for a second hand GSXR400, what are the most important things I should look out for? And how can I distinguish between the models?

By the way, is this bike available in USA? I will be going there and need a fun bike to ride for 4 years.

According to KT's manual,

Frame number GK76A-100001 onwards is RL model

Frame number GK76A-103110 onwards is RM model

Frame number GK76A-105595 onwards is RN model

According to a website (Take note it's manufacture year, not registration year)

1990 ~ L model (aka RL)

1991 ~ M model (aka RM, RFM, RFNM)

1992 ~ N model (aka RN, RFN)

1993 ~ P model (aka RP, RFP)

1994 ~ R model (aka RR, RFR)

1995 ~ S model (aka RS, RFS)

Those manufactured in 1992 and before are those with 59 hp while those after are 53 hp.

Fellow GK76A riders, I now have the dimensions for a Frame slider attachment for GK76A. However, I have trouble looking for material. Basically I need "alloy" rod of 30mm diameter and "alloy" plate of 10 mm thick to cut.

Would like to seek help as to which shop sell these material.

Secondly, would like to seek response as to who is interested in this attachment.

I think my bike has started to suffer from wear & tear.

1) There's a bunch of stange sounds coming from the front wheel. One is a tinny, metallic scratching sound when moving off at low speed from stationary. I think it's related to the brakes.. hmm.. The other is a strange deep whine when I approach 80km/h. Changed both front wheel bearings but still liddat.

2) Steering head bearings confirm worn out. Feels notchy when turning off center. Front end feels a bit flighty at speed, too. Handlebars give the shakes at 80km/h no matter how much I adjust the tyre pressure.

3) Clutch not that smooth. I think the plates are fried. Time to change (fortunately I bought a new set already).

4) Radiator hoses are on their last legs. Top hoses feeding the thermostat assembly have ballooned out like fat worms. It's only a matter of time before they rupture.

5) Noticed oil streaks around the left engine cover and top end bolts. Gaskets fried already.

6) My 8,000-km Pirelli Dragon MTR01 front lacerated a bit across the middle. Dunno what cut the rubber. Arse!

Looks like I'll be making another trip to Singapore soon for parts (maybe early August). Does Ah Boy supply all these parts or do I still have to cross the road to KS Motorcycles and pay extra for them?

Can be replaced wif another brand, juz that the dimensions have to match tats all.

Hi guys, this is a computer generated picture of GK76A Frame sliders attachment welded out of alloy material. Hopefully , Ivan can come up with something for me.

As for the hole at the end of the cylindrical bar, it supposed to be "threaded" so that the actually slider can be screwed in. As for the bolt size and thread size. I have yet to determine.

is that an assumption u're making or did u hear that from someone else? if memory still serves me well, all gk76a, other than the sp models, are using the gk75's rear shock... which only cost 290 after alota haggling at KS motors...

i dun think u can feel much difference power-wise between the 2 models.

and $290 is really cheap...i think KS doesnt do installation. u can throw some money to gopa and ask him to fit for u. Or throw at me also can :p

Hi guys!

is there anyway to differentiate between a RR model CDI & RP model CDI by looking at it? can the CDI exchange on both bikes?

by part number.

its stated by yellowish looking sticker pasted on the cdi.

32900-33C70 is for R model. 32900-33C00 is for P model.
