Hi to fellow yz16 riders.

Just bought this beast, collecting next week.

 

First time bought new bike and thus need some help from you pros.

a few questions someone could ans?

 

1. how many km to run in? and during run in cannot exceed how many rpm or speed?

2. what engine oil is best on this bike? no budget.

3. is there any place that sells the speedo protector?

4. Any shop or mech to recommend to service?

 

1. 1000km run in, first 500km below 4.5k rpm 500km - 1000km below 6k rpm

 

2. depend on what you require but first 2-3 time change engine oil dont change so good one, cause number 1 you cannot rev your engine when running in so no point change good EO also. number 2 like what motornoob say let your bike accustom first then roughly around 2000km can put good eo liao. if you ask me what eo good i will tell you Motul 300v 10w 50 one so far i use that one best lol got people recommend me other say better but i haven try. If not can go read magazine they got intro many other brand and many type of eo for diff usage eg, high performance racing, normal street use, extra toque etc...

 

3. so far singapore dont have may want to go other country to find like malaysia or indonesia. indonesia sure have cause they every sh*t also have for this bike lol.

 

4. bro you can just go back to the bike shop you buy to do servicing bro if u trust to buy a bike there i dont see the reason you dont trust their servicing. when you start to mod your bike you will visit many other bike shop then you can see how they service then if u wan you can try. trusteeship is one thing you must forge with the mech de and it takes some time.

as of now there are limited aftermarket parts. so far, a number of the fz16 bros here have changed handle grips to rizoma ones. air filter to knn. adding accessories like belly pan (wing yap) and handlebar to renthal..

 

One thing i can confirm, alternative exhaust still have yet to arrive.

I just did my headlights on sat. When over to night concepts at first center and changed my headlight to hid, pole to led. Price is reasonable for the ballast that they use. They usually do for cars. So might take a longer time to fit the hid on to your bike. But overall good and friendly service. Look for Dave.

Let's just wait for HLC for their ans ba... They did mention before the exhaust is in already, awaiting for LTA to pass it.. But from wat i think, they are just waiting for some guys to take the risk to install the exhaust and send for inspection. Maybe they dont wanna have the hassle to send in for inspection due to the small amt of fZ16 outside the road... Hope our bike will be hot selling compare to wave,x1r.. So the exhaust will be out faster... Hopen KTM duke125/200 wont be out so fast... else...

I guess the issue with bringing in exhaust is the legality aspect. U know how strict sg can be in terms of carbon emissions.

Speaking of legal exhaust, any idea about the procedures of bringing in exhausts into our country and make it legal?

Ouh, and ya, the KTM 125 DUKE. I must admit its really a beauty. However a lot of ppl speculate that it will cost somewhere btw 12k and 15k. Just like the yamaha R125, its european made an its gonna bore a huge hole in pockets! LOL. It'd definitely be a head turner but due to its massive cost for a 2B bike, i feel that its not gonna be a popular choice for riders who are looking at basic commuting purposes only.

From what i heard.. its india made. so it's going to be another bike with good fc as compare to fz16. but definitely looks cool. Its one of my top choices besides FZ16 but couldn't wait for the launch.. More choices for 2b bikers and daily commuters..

But 1st of all, those shops wouldn't just send in their bikes to test of the exhaust if there is no market at all... Else they couldn't earn at all. Well, FZ16s' been selling quite good, but the amt is not compare as much as wave or x1r... For 2b bikes, there are limited after market exhaust, other then gilera or kups which are the hotter pie.

 

Next, i think bringing in exhaust or importing exhaust into singapore is ez. Just like importing any brand goods into singapore. Likewise for 7% gst and other blah blah blah charges. If u wanna bring in the exhaust, 1st of all, u need to check and get the company to send u the factory cert of the exhaust. Normally they should provide a factory cert, else it's only for racing uses. Next, fix on ur exhaust at any motorshop, next bring ur bike down to LTA, pass them the factory cert, and get it inspected. If fail, u wasted few hundred bucks of monies, else, congrats! Your exhaust is legal on ur bike. They will take pictures of the pipe and serial no., then issue u a cert for ur bike which certifies it is legal on ur bike. It's quite a hassle to bring in the exhaust, moreover, it has a risk factor which ur inspection might fail.
