Ranger, i bet u are the same person who has been posting here with a new acc, i dont know how much the shop pay u to get riders to go to that shop. some of us are def not p plate holders so we know what are the right things to listen and what are not, which shop are good and stuff. i hope u can stop asking fz16 riders to do this and that when its not neccessary for us. we don't wanna be racers who race against sp and r15. and we def don't wanna go to a shop that chop head. Lastly, changing air filter will not allow your bike to go faster, it just allows more air to enter. I feel for fellow fz16 rider Epigun who had his air filter change and experience decrease in FC and performance. You can never understand the uneasiness after that in a brand new bike. just stop your advertising and marketing for bike shop, to you it might seem like a part time job to earn extra income. , to us riders its part of our life. Thank you

I think it might just post bad image for the bike shop and the bikeshop might get warning from SBF moderator.

come on man, u're not paid a single cent by them? when u're persistant and repeatedly asking our community to change this and that, mod this and that, service at the bike shop and stuff. And idiot knows you are being paid by them to try to get riders to go there. To the untrained, u are a so call bike enthusist, to the trained, u are merely a salesman with some knowledge. Our community should know that shop is ex, and a 10% discount equals to nothing when it is already ex. I'm just helping the newbies here. they have the right to know that singapore has many better shops with better rates and services.

They also have the right to know that after all the mods, this fz16 can't even beat a kup kia. So they ought to know whether their money is worth it. This is my community i have the right to protect them.

Guys, sorry to barge in,

i just hit my 1000km mark, and i have a friend who's offering to change the engine oil for me, DIY.

my question is, would it be alright for that to be done? or should i stick to only HL for each servicing?

if i don't go HL for servicing, would it be ok if i go to other workshops to change engine oil?

Thnks for the help in advance...

Cheers

Yenyu, nothing is bad when it comes to sharing as ultimately, ppl have a choice. I always regard highly of you from the way u set up your bike and the rides you accomplished.u had done a few meet ups. Many regarded u as the "leader of sbf fz16" and how can u return them this favor?

I ever asked u if u are the leader of fz16 but u said no. u know its a tough responsibility. Even for myself, just to share what a particular bikeshop have to offer, already ppl like FZ16Boy tried to put me down but what had he done to contribute, the least? Dont let your principles of life be sway,my friend.

U should know that we cant please everybody.we who stood up is always a target. Its tough but we love what we do best.

Nah, It's just that the indirectly advertising might cause impact to the bike shop, which they shouldnt do it this way in the forum due to regulations. Cos they have been given a advertisement side to promo their stuff.. Maybe wat u can do is just to share accessory which is sold at where and the price of it. As for members, u might wanna just do it over PMs or at our FB. :)

Hi bro, Yes, it's ur choice. If ur bike doesnt come in with the promo which i believe not, you should just go over to any other shops outside. First of all, u go hong leong servicing, you will have to pay for the EO and oil filter while the workmanship is free. Next, Hong leong servicing requires booking, which normally takes up to one week minimum from the day of booking. Just that if u completed 1st 3 servicing from them, ur warranty is extended to 12mth, which isn't of much use. Rather do at outside shops.

As for outside shops, you just buy the EO and oil filter, they will change for u for free... So which is more applicable to you, you can decide. Choice is open for all... To me, I would choose outside shops, just that i have got the promo which i get free EO for my 1st 3 servicing, that's why i go back.. Clear it up then i go outside bikeshop and do already. :)

Brother Yenyu, engine modifications to our FZ16 is not to be compared against KUPS.To each,is their own respective class. FZ16 modifications comes in exterior outlook and internal engine components. The maximum exterior mods that could be done on a FZ16 is to turn it into a smaller version of our bigger Fazers.

Abt the engine mods, some parts of the internals have to be replaced and some add ons to improve and increase the HP with optimizing the fuel consumption.

For those who actually installed air filters, they need to tune up their carburetors, they need to actually get the proper sizes for their air filters and the internal jet pins too. If these are not done properly, the power will surge down and high fuel consumption. There are also a few other steps which I am not entitled to reveal much yet but the new mods will increase the performance, not much, but better than the stock FZ16s.

However, bear in mind, going fast means draining your fuel but if you have it done properly, everything should be optimized to the max :)

Lol... Of cos, I do feel the effect after i finish installed my air filter. There are afew surge, maybe due to the air flow... I will do my own jetting to make it more rich... Maybe it's too lean now that is causing the surge. But my FC still remain good. Tested. ard 30~33km/l. It's testing base on touring trips and not city trip.

to ranger, why do u need to create a new account since u proclaim yourselve to be so trustworthy in the biking community and with your repeated spam here to advertise for Wing Yap Motors, its pretty clear why. you don't own an FZ16, don't talk as if you know everything about the bike.

I'm not against the bike shop, I'm against you spamming/advertising here and wanting to earn our riders money, esp P plate holders who hasn't been well educated or well aware of the bike scene in singapore.

I repeat again for benefits of p plater holders, there is absolutely no need/point to spend hundreds or thousands to mod our interior as eventually you will still see some kups with pillions flashing across us, or a stock sparks flying pass us anytime he wants to. This is a commuting bike not a racing one therefore your hard earn money could be better invested elsewhere.

This is a not a thread to advertise for bike shop and earn referrel fees from them, its for us riders to share our experience and tips. A friendly thread, not a money making thread. Wing Yap has their own thread they can do it there no one will stop them. Some of our riders are 18/19 year old who are students/ nsf. And they aren't sure which shops are reliable, reasonable pricing and good workmanship.

Lastly, we aint 13 year old kids hanging around. Don't talk to us like one. If you don't earn from us, why do you keep asking all FZ16 riders to go to wing yap to mod/service/upgrade and not other shops. I'm not berating Wing yap, but reg riders who have been around the bike scene knows which shop is ex which shop are not, which shop go race everything lose, which shop has good racing team/mech.

I think you get my point now. u can still pm them for all i care, just leave our thread free of advertising /spamming, we don't need salesperson earning referral fees from us. Thank you.

Sorry, but it isn't a good thing when there's a conflict of interest. With all due respect to both fz16boy and +Ranger+, in a neutral point of view, both are trying each best to address the interest of our fz16 community. Up to us fz16 riders to evaluate and ultimately decide on what our priority is.

Be it performance or outlook of our fz16 bike, we'll need to conclude on what's more impt to each unique individual. So, let us just be humble ppl and share what we would wanna share without any personal attacks. We are one big riding community after all.

Peace. :D
