Hey guys,

Need advise here. I started my bike and set it to neutral to warm up the engine. Why about a minute or so, the engine sort of going to stall/'die'. In neutral gear it is not suppose to stall, but my bike seems to stall, or going to stall.

Any ideas why?

Appreciate it loads.

Most likely - Could be: ur choke is on. Check the choke cable if ur handlebar is not straight. Sometimes, the tensions pulls the cable. Could also be, there is water in the carb. If its water in the carb, just close the fuel valve, n use the bottom screw on the carb to release that reservoir of fuel.

Hmm icic. It aint the choke, it was switch to top. That means off right. But I'm sure if my handlebar was straight. Hmm..

Anw alright I will do what u advised. Thanks alot yea.

Is there any way to reduce the vibrations on the handlebar when riding? I rode from ecp-aye from east to west and my hands got kinda numb.

Maybe i am new to riding ;) But is there any way to reduce it?

Many Thanks.

Hands numb! I think: It's not the vibration, handle bar vibrations is very minimal on the fz16. Of course vibrations contribute. More like; Its the angle of the handlebar. Tilting the handlebar downwards will help. Only 4 bolts.... To be fair to the fz16. The handle bar is quite comfortable. On my previous bike. Just 10mins riding. And your right hand starts to get numb... After half hour, it gets really really really really numb!!!

when u buy the bike say u wan be the sub rider str8 away so when the bike is ready to ride u will be able to ride str8 away. if not u need to wait for 1 or 2 day for the insurance to add u as sub rider..

and thing to take note is the insurance policy price will be charge as the higher policy rate, so even ur father is main rider, u sub rider the price will be charge as of ur policy price

Sprocket change to make ur fz16 slightly faster. Am new to the fz16. The 1st thing I did was to change the front sprocket to 15 teeth. The original was 14 front, 40 rear. On the original- the per 1k rpm on 5th gear was 13.75km. (4k rpm = 55kmh) With the front on 15 teeth, the per 1k rpm was estimated 15km. (4k rpm = 60kmh). This helps a lot as I'm doing run in! It's a very fun bike. Agile and very very easy to when there in jams. The stock configuration handlebar seems to be too pointed upwards though, it sets the wrist on a awkward angle. Pointing the handlebar downwards with 1 to 2 inch raisers will solve this 1.

fz16 where is the speed sensor? is this accurate? coz last time i change my front sprocket on my cbr6, but my frens said the speed readout wont be accurate already. as they mentioned something about the speed sensor being at the front sprocket area.

I'm crazy over this bike! Currently looking for my first bike, and this would be my first choice. But reading the thread I notice there is no stock around?

Also a few questions, what's the otr price?

Posted (edited)

if not wrong, hong leong (HL) is selling machine price at $6.4k. coe 2k+ and insurance based on your age. p plate highest should be 1.8k.

The speed sensor is at the front wheel hub. Very simple cable configuration, the speedo takes its signal front the front wheel. So ya, it's accurate. Then again, all car n bike manufacturers are liers about the true speed of the machine. U downgraded from a cbr6? I downgraded to fz from blackbird cbrxx too. Seems quite a few bros downgraded to the fz16. It's sooo easy on the fz16. So easy to squeeze around in traffic. N best of all, can actually look around at the scenery whilst riding it. But.. Its Just, quite slow ......
