haiyo...juz go motorworld $50(gold) 3pt,hodaka*...u can respray it if u dun like the colour.

I dun really in favour of the 3 point engine guard.A minor drop will cause the guard to touch your crankcase cover.I find the orginal guard is better.

Hi Guy,

Sorry, I am new in S4 and wondering is there any different on the engine guard for different version Super 4?

Can Vtec I engine used on a Ver S or the other way round? Or between any Vtec version? Or Ver R and project big?

I will only walk on the path choosen by none but myself

engine wise, all the vtec engines is the same. frames also almost the same.

ver S, ver R n PB1 is the same. frames oso.

as for engine guard, the 2 pt crash bar sure can fit all the S4 but not 3 pt. 3 pt crash bar is designed for vtecs not the ver S n below models... nevertheless, still got ppl install. how they install, i dunno... have to ask ard liao.

my 2 cents below... hope they are of great help to you...

basiclly, all crashbars can fit on all versions and models of CB400.

a 2 point crashbar is jus a crashbar installed to protect the engine's casing being scratched if the bike fall or skid.

a 3 point crashbar is a crashbar and also acts as a stabalising bar...

look at the 3 point crashbar, there are 2 bars where the lower bar is protecting the engine's casing. the upper bar is secured from the engine mounting to the mainframe of the bike, thus reducing the overall vibration of the bike to minimum. those who had seen or used the stabalizing bar should know what i mean...

not forgetting that a 3 point crashbar also acts as a cosmetic item to your bike. refer to my bike pic in my siggy...

personally i' prefer to put on frame sliders like those being sold by motovation & etreme equiptment! but one would have to get 2 front & 2 rear to really protect the bike's engine!

just my opinion pls don't flame me can?

wat do u mean by 2 front n 2 rear?? so u mean install frame mount slider is not enough, still need to install the fork slider, swing arm slider n rear wheel slider to get the maximum protection??

i shd say partially right about this...

i had installed 3 pt crash bar n guess wat?? excess vibration can b felt. take out, back to norm.

act as a stabiliser? not necessary. act as extra support like fork brace, yes.

so its subjective.
