u can go to woodlands central / checkpoint and buy

 

If you are taking bus, it will bring you to the big sheng siong there. Bus that reaches are 911, 912 and 913. There are other bus services but i usually take 912 coz it's a direct bus for me.

 

From the big Sheng Siong, walk to hawker centre / KFC (around 100m). They are just below/above each other. The shophouses are either

 

1) below the hawker centre

2) behind the KFC.

3) Near POSB ATM

4) Near Fortune Teller

5) Near toilet

6) Quite near Macdolands.

 

Still don't know, i'll bring u there.

 

Good raincoat = $$$

 

They sell Arai Raincoat for $60+. Depend on your nego skills, maybe u can bring the price lower.

 

They sell cheap yellow uncle raincoat for $10+

 

They sell helmet bags, rain shoes. Some shops sell top and bottom seperately.

im using a cheap raincoat which cost less than 30

 

arai raincoat are good (in looks). performance wise is just like any other raincoat. if you are using ur coat as a windbreaker / jackact, your coat will wear out quicker than u r using it just on rainy days.

 

arai coats feels good. it feels thinker so most likely you will feel warmer when using it. However, since it is think, it will take up more spaces in your underseat comparment / box / bag

 

one thing about the pants is that after about 10x usage, for my case, water will start to seep into the groin area. (seems to happen for any brand of pants for me so far)

 

my take is that buy a raincoat for it's design. The sewing quality, the zips, any additional flaps covering the zip, collar, any velcro covering the wrist, etc. Looks are a bonus.

 

one last thing about raincoat. after using it, if you are going to hang onto your bike to dry, remember use a cheap one. arai raincoat are good, and chances are it is also high on a theif's list.

different shop of course different pricing. Don't think it's by a lot. the most is about $2.

For my case, I've been using Taichi raincoat since 2007, tested 3 different sets over 2 years.

All i can say is, it's not worth the $$. (3 sets = 3 * $100+)

With $300 (round-down figure), i can easily get TEN sets of pro-grip (~$30/set).

1 set of gro-grip can last me 4-5 months of heavy usage (top as windbreaker during normal days), 10 sets? go do your maths.

 

BEST of all, just hang there on the bike after usage.
