I've tried on the Evoline version a few times. Helmet concept is actually quite cool when it was first announced in 2007.

Unfortunately, there are just too many issues on that helmet like...

- helmet shell is too big and especially too wide for many Asian riders

- inner visor doesn't retract down enough

- inner visor switch is too small

- flip up system is too complicated and unreliable

Played with the evoline 2 when I was helmet shopping late last year. It is very stylish and is priced right in my opinion. But there are a few problems too.

I had fitting issues. Could not find one that fit my head shape properly. Also, the flip system is clunky. You press a button to release the chin and flip it back. But if you did not click it into place at the back, be careful as it can slide forward and bang down on the front cos there is no detent anywhere along the flip line. Also, when clicked in place at the back, there is no button to release it. You have to force it out of the catch and flip it back forward. Over time this will loosen I think. The other thing is the catch mechanism in the front position. If you look inside the slit you will find it uses a very thin and flexible metal catch. I could bend that piece of metal with my finger. Doesn't bode well for longevity.

Of all the flip ups I saw, the best was the Shoei. Followed by the Nolans. Of course you could

Go with the Cabergs but I didn't like their looks. Or the Schuberths but them you will pay through your nose.

All the best!

I was thinking of buying the Shark Evoline Series 2 also. Thanks for all the feedback! beats the marketing glam!

I just bought the Caberg Konda 4 months ago. Just bought it with a tightish fit (M). Thought that the liner would thin out in a week, but the sponge quality seems to be too good. It's still a bit too tight for me. But I must say I'm impressed with it. No wonder they've done well. The UK safety system gave it a 5 star safety rating too!

I've almost always had a flip-up helmet. Had the BMW System 3 (1994) and the Shoei Synchrotec (1997). But the Caberg does seem like the easiest to use of the three. (Of course, the other two are older designs and Caberg's learnt from them.

But it's also a tiny bit wide for my built-in panniers - forces my plastic 'trunk' out a little.

I'm thinking of selling it and get a the Shoei J Force 3 or a Multitec. Bt the price difference is a heck of a lot. more than double. Hmmm... should I or shouldn't I?? ah! life's dilemmas! ;-)

Cheers, guys!
