hey thanx for sharing.. but how about maintenance.. alot of people say its very expensive to maintain the bike.. what are the frequent parts that needs repairing most of the time?

Posted

Piston - 20,000KM (Around $250. Get it from PJME.co.uk if you don't want to be ripped off.)

Piston rings - 8,000KM (Can't remember, but do get them from PJME.)

Block - 30,000KM ($2K from Mah Motors. Don't let them rip you off, buy a spare one off PJME for less than half that.)

1L of 2T ~ 350KM or so. (Depending on how much 2T you're using to lubricate the engine.)

Fuel Consumption - 17?~27?KM/L (Depends on your riding style, what mods you have on your bike, what jet size you're using and how rich/lean the mixture is. Stock bike should return mileage somewhere in that range. 28mm Carb w/ 118 main jet.)

Hi Elroy you will get lot more information joining us on our dedicated aprilia riders thread.

Basically our tank is 14litres, 10.5 main and 3.5 reserve. With a good settings you would be hitting 30, although it averages out around 25/l. Personally I get about 325-350 from

14 litres give or take.

Maintenance is not expensive, only the parts of you happen to break them are. Most shops will try to chop you big time that's why we organize mass orders pretty often to save on parts price and just pay for labour or even do the labour ourselves.

Maintenance costs will include change of eo, gear oil etc, in which we use higher quality to retain our bikes integrity. No issue with using cheaper alternatives, just not advisable on this baby.

Do join us if you wish to know more. Have you gotten your bike or planning to purchase?

if maintainence is an issue for you, why not just grab the rs4 125 instead? might not have the same omph of the 2 stroker but still packs a punch for a 2b bike. quite a few second hand around too, cheaper then the 2 strokers and resale wise there is a demand for it once the 2 strokers get phased out. quality bike with fantastic control and usable speed. i'm selling mine too :) wanna change to motard!!!

racing in traffic...

Hi all, I'm new here. I just got my 2B. Still thinking of what bike to buy. Either the RS125 or RS4 125 or the Duke 200. Which is why I'm here to learn more about the Aprilias before making my decision.

I checked websites that both these bike are rated at 15HP. Is it true? Cause one is 2 stroke and the other 4. And everybody know the 2 strikers are more powerful. So if it's really true that these 2 bikes are churning out 15 horses each, which one should I buy given that I'm over 100kg in weight? Thank you.
