I am taking my 2A prac test on 27th Sep....That is super long!!! What I heard is that there will be only 45 ppl taking the test instead of 90 ppl (last time). As each test date now accomodates lesser ppl, we have to wait longer. WTH!

Just realized that there are a lot of new riders here, and I hope this post can save some lives if I paste it in a place where it matters.

Like many of you here reading this thread, I am a new rider. 10 months passed, and getting ready for 2A. The message I have for you all here today is this:

Always, always wear your visor, especially on the Expressway.

Our instructors in school never talk about it. Noone discusses it. Noone seems to care about it. Even after things happen. I wonder why.

I would suggest, if there are any instructors reading this thread, Please let learner riders know the importance of putting down the visor while riding.

Yesterday on the BKE heading, I was keeping left and getting ready to filter out towards Dairy Farm Road when a piece of granite from a nearby truck flew into my helmet and cracked my visor. Not just a small crack. The visor is totalled.

The stone was as large as a contact lens case, and would have knocked me unconscious if not for the visor. Even with the visor on, I was still stunned, and almost lost control.

Luckily I managed to hang on and survive. Please wear your visors. They WILL SAVE YOUR LIVES.

To add on....Don ride behind trucks that are carrying sand or granite. Who knows even with the visor, there are some chances that a sand particle will enter ur eyes and it is really a sh*t situation when u can;t open ur eyes while riding. I kena on one of my eyes b4.

And also u will feel some 'stinging' sensation from the sand that fly off from the trucks and it really hurts. So don't ride behind those kind of trucks when u get ur license. Avoid it at all cost

Fully agree! Sometimes unavoidable though. When u need to filter left to exit e-way. Important to slow down and try your best to avoid the gravel truck.

Never forget to avoid the gangsters on the road too: taxi drivers. Never stay behind them.

If no choice, do what u have to do.

But it is advised to follow in sequence.

Fail your TP?

Prepare to wait for 2 months for the next one!

F*ck!

Currently TP date is quite far away. I dont think anyone wants to fail and wait again right?

So do book more revisions and practice more. Practices are essential in order to be a skillful rider.

By the way, its the mentality of each individual who always thinks that nothing will happen to them or they don't know what dangers are going to appear. Always be prepared and expect the worst scenario that could happen.

Expect the Unexpected!
