i just bought mine from Mah with some help from kenny... collecting of tue... :lovestruck: its also grey in color!!! :cheeky: cheah418 where you stay?

dear guys,

 

i have a problem. i am in dilenma. should i buy a second-hand gts so that i can modify all i want or should i buy a new one and bear with it for 1 yr. cause i hear modification of the bike will void the warranty??? can everyone share their views?

ps: i hate the handle bar, but love the rest of the bike too much.

actually this bike is GTS... just that it is modded with many accessories...

 

-mileage wise should be same as GTS maybe slightly diff due to some modded parts

-4 stoke

-top speed should be around 120KM

-SOHC or DOHC (i really dunno man)

Depends on what kinda modications you wanna do. If it's just on outlooks like the metal footrest, rewrapping of seat etc, shld be fine. My advise is to endure it for the 1st few mths and see if there's any problems with the bike and thereafter then you decide whether it's safe to do so or not... :goodluck:

If this one is to go on, I think it would be the 3rd time that a GTS or SYM club is being started. It's always good to have one, but I think having a club like this needs alot of commitments, take the X8ers for eg, they've been doing quite well so far, quite cool too.

 

Anyway, to me, having a club is only a recognition, important thing is that you are always happy with the group of frenz you are with that shares the same passion for scooters regardless which brand of scooters they're riding! :smile:

i agree that there is a lor of commitments for forming a club. But i find that for us SYM riders to meetup to talk about the bike, it will let us have a better understanding of the bikes, this is especially useful for me a scooter noob. whaha. Anyways meetup no need to be once a week, can be once or twice a month. Just my feel lar... haha maybe i'm too excited with my new bike?

Ya, normal meetup for kopi session is good enuf. :thumb:

Where is the bike shop you guys go to do serving?

i would recommend going future scootering look for kenny. But i believe the first 3 servicing (1k, 2k and 3k) are provided free by mah...

I got mine from Mah 6mths back. Labour free only, you'll still need to pay for the engine oil etc... :smile:

U might wanna go back to the shop where u bought it from to ask them to adjust the rear suspensions to the hardest. Anyway, it's a total different bike from Phantom, try to get use to it for the nx few days then see how it goes.... Enjoy your ride!!! :cheer:

Juz to take note bro, the bike's handling is superb if no box is attached. But most of GTS here in sg i noticed are fitted with the free box. So, the handling might be compromised here. To counter the handling problem, a heavier weight at the bar end might minimise the vibrations. This is thru my 13mths riding xperience with my baby.

 

But...there is 1 problem i'm facing now. The shock absorbers feels great initially, but after 1 year and 26000km later, i think it's time to get a replacement. I often had to ride really slowly at road humps, to avoid it knock my undercarriage. Even when cornering, it's not stable...swaying up and down I weight in at 90kg and occasionally i do hav pillion. No oil leaks observed. Checks tyre bearings,swingarm bush n screws.all seems normal. I wonder if any 1 encounters thz problem. .......
