If u ever ride a big bike.. Now change to GTS and thinking of going thai.. Then i think halfway there u will really really wish u have a bigger bike..

Travelling at 100km/h with lots of stop is ok.. The bike will be able to make it. But where will u find ppl that will travel the same speed with u? This forum quite cruel de.. And unless u can tahan >12hrs on the road to thailand then no problem man.. Please please please bring your tools + extra belts along.. And NEVER go for any other belts other then the stock SYM belts. Even if ppl tell u its from the same manufacturer.. Cos the 'teeth' is totally NOT the same.. :giddy:

Thanks for the info man..... xtra belts will be good. Original onli.... haha I will remember. Good advice.

I'll help to answer since I'm riding one... :cheeky:

For mine, 90kph to 100kph is comfortable enough, 110 kph (NSHW min speed limit) can maintain as well with little stress to it. :cheeky:

Speedo so far so good, neither did I hear any complains abt inaccuracy from other GTS bros...

ok another question,

whats the top for it?

Posted

Guys, pls help answer these few questions :

1) Whats the fuel tank capacity of this GTS200?

2) How much reserve it has?

3) Whats the normal road riding FC like?

4) Whats the FC on NSW like say cruising at 110km/h?

5) How often engine oil needs to be changed or checked?

6) What is the most possible thing that is mostly likely to get spoilt?

7) Tyre pressure for front n rear say with passenger ( eg 200psi?)

Thank you.

Like it or not, it's abt 120kph to 130kph. Pls dun ask me y, but do note that it's only 172cc and it's dry weight is around 163kg.

I don't blame people who doesn't show courtesy, they just didn't get taught on how to do so.

Hi there, qns 1, 2, 5, 7 can be found on the manual. Pls take some time to read it and if you are free, you might wanna read up the previous pages in this thread to understand better. I'll try to answer the rest for ya...

3) Whats the normal road riding FC like?

Depends on your riding style, approx 23km/L ~ 27km/L

4) Whats the FC on NSW like say cruising at 110km/h?

Approx 23km/L ~ 25km/L

6) What is the most possible thing that is mostly likely to get spoilt?

Not all bikes from the same make and model are manufactured the same way, there are some that can have no problem at all and there are some that can have so many problems within 3mths after getting the bike. For eg. one of our members here had his side stand broken off due improper welding and his is juz a 3mths old bike... :cheeky:

heh... 120 is fine. cruising at 110(hopefully actual speed not sym standard speedo) for a fatty 172cc is good enough.

JUst collected my GTS200 original version. 6.9k OTR. Free 42 Litre box.

From riding sports bikes, suddenly ride on this scooter which I bought for transport, the feeling is so very much different. Felt very smooth, the vibrations are very minimal when i throttle up a bit. Running-in so I am riding at 60km/h max. The seat is so comfortable n the rear view mirrors felt so Luxurious. The view is so wide n clear. Handling is quite easy except that I might need to shift my butt forward when I stop so that my legs can touch the floor. U-turn is so easy that I dont even have to put my leg out n the bike is so stable. Maybe its because I am riding slow but I like the feeling of riding this scooter. The various control switches are so easy to touch that turning on signal lights is as easy as ABC compared to my Aprilia RS125 n 250. So relaxing. I guess I gona love this GTS200.

1st time go petrol kiosk pump... haha had difficulty squeezing the petrol into the tank. But suprised to find out that I managed to squeeze in 11 litres into the tank with some spilled on the floor board....

Anyways, if u guys got outing, sms me at 90214262. Hope to learn more things about the bike from u guys.

no being a spoil sport but soon you'll be wanting MORE SPEED from a maxi scooter.

enjoy your ride! maxi scooters are the most functional bikes around! you can buy a whole weeks grocery supply with the bike!

Ya U are right. I am used to power. Very soon I might be doing something to make it be able to go faster but depends n c how. Anyways, I have removed the box n put on a pilion back rest instead. Still running-in. Is it really so that the run-in must be controlled at below 7k rpm?

i'd normally run in around 80 km/h. there are so many school of thoughts on running in, so do follow what is stated in the user manual if in doubt.

as for the gts200, i've been told that nothing much can be done to increase significant power

Well, pump full tank when i just got out the bike, so far, 300km liao but still a bar b4 reserve. I think can hit 320km when it just touch reserve. Running-in and controling the rpm below 7k.

Onli thing I dont like about this bike is that when I pilion ppl, it tends to give me an impression that I should upgrade the engine with 10 more horses...lol.

You're right, it isn't a powerful scooter, unless modifications are made to it. I guess most ppl who used to ride bigger and powerful bikes will have some difficulties getting use to it... :giddy:
