The EFI should be a good buy. I think once the GTS is out, the joyride price will drop a bit. Also, had a surprising comment by one of the staffs at ASP when i went down the other day to view the X8. He says even tho Joyride is a Taiwan bike, the engine seems to be smoother. And apart from the cheap spare parts, the bike seems to be a suitable ride for Singaporeans. I have nothing against Piaggio, Atlantic or whatever, so somehow was quite surprised about it. That's one more for the Joyriders, hor... :thumb:

SYM will launch a new bike early next month in Singapore called the GTS. Is also known as the younger brother of the Joyride cos it's similair. I say, other than the pretty babes, the bike is also pretty. Pic taken from a motor show in Germany. SYM seems to be a better Asian bike in Europe than everyone might have imagined. Comments, errr... about the bike lar, not the girls! :bouncefire: :thumb:

The Euro MX is another SYM product i think.. If you got your bike from Ban Hong Brothers, then maybe the spare parts they should have. Thing is, as i said they may quote you a bit expensive... or you can try calling SYM service centre up. :sorry: :goodluck:

Actually i tried riding the EFI before i gotten my joyride200...

The EFI is actually 180cc, where as the carb joy200 is 172cc.

The EFI has a much higher torque initially.. Tested at DX, when going up slope, EFI had onli to twist the throttle slightly, compared to my joy200...

But on the road, the EFI loses its torque v quickly... Felt that my joy200 had better performance on the roads less the initial torque problem.

According to DX, the EFI version saves fuel... But for that price of 2k more, i chose the carb version... (how much fuel do u have to pump b4 saving $2k ????):giddy:

I got my joyride200 @5.8k from DX, bought in MAR tis year...

At that time, they just launched the EFI (50th anniversary edition), think that was the contributing factor to the additional $2k

Any guys out there know where to 'MOD' ur joyride???

I m looking for like new exhaust, belt, and also new headlamp cover (for my HID installation):cheeky:

Not possible. For the JR EFI, they using a special Electronic Control Gear (like the ECU) which costs about $1000. The frame for the EFI has a mounting where you put the foldable mirror. And the HID light bulb set itself... will cost you a whole month's pay. Front cover size still same tho. So these are the contributing factors why EFI are more expensive, not just because it has a fuel injector. For belts & clutch, all JR models, 125, 150, 200 & EFI use the same kind. Cheers

By the way, heard the SYM agent in Eunos has a black JR200 there for sale at $5.2K. The bike is registered under the company for displaying at road show purposes & therefore is an FY 32** platter. Mileage is only... 1000km++ after about 9 months! The boss also told me, that the cylinder block & clutch has been changed to racing one. When i try, the engine sounds louder than a normal Joyride... Only problem being minor scratches here n there. The $5.2K will include transfer fee, free box & rack, IU, insurance, etc. etc. Question is.. is it worth it??
