:cry: Sending my bike to my workshop later :cry: Discovered yesterday night that the engine gasket is leaking (Left side and top front of engine). It had actually leaked for a few days already. Lucky still got warranty. Looks like I will have no bike for a few days. Just hope that the shop will expedite things.

 

:offtopic: How nice, if the shop agrees to change my GTS back to a CBR400RRR without any additional charges (dream on) :lovestruck: I am starting to miss my old CBR400RR leh :cry:

hehehe :goodluck: welcome to the gasket club "1 in a few hundred.... my foot" i think should raise this concern to SYM. Anyone got direct link to SYM or hav to mail SYM taiwan ???

duno is engine oil or transmission oil... diffinately not petrol..

Hey man.. If u all want to raise anything to SYM maybe i can help.. After all i'm in constant contact with the folks in Taiwan.. They are quite friendy thor.. But the minus point is that they are in Taiwan and hence help will be delay when they pass the info back to sg...

so far im still happy wif it too. only had it for arnd 2 weeks.

 

hmm when ur bike picks up .. hw much do u twist ur throttle? hw many rpm? twist too much will affect e bike in the future?

me too..

got it less than 2 weeks, now alredi clock about 600km...

still pretty happy with it..

 

but i am really confused by the run-in method... follow the manual? or the hard way? :confused: isit going to affect the bike alot?

 

wat i did:

1. normal riding but kept

2. changed to royal purple at around 260km. but find it heavier and hard to start.

3. so i changed to Castrol R4 and clean oil filter at 320km. It smoother and easier to start.

4. Rev hard upto 80kmh once in a while after this.

 

any suggestions n comments? this is my 1st bike, really dunno wat to do...:cheeky:

For all those running in pls be patient.t is for the good of the bike. :smile: All new bike are like that one unless u go for 2nd hand.

 

After running in if u like to rev a lot it's perfectly ok but one down side ur parts will wear and tear faster ie more frequent servicing interval.

 

And remember during run-in period when there is a need to squeeze squeeze (avoid danger or what ever)

 

After the first oil change if u really buay tahan already rev a bit but not too much keep within 90km/h best.

Hehehe. Ya lah bro, it's the gasket problem, confirmed. Just took my bike from the workshop yesterday. They changed the block gasket, left side engine gasket, my meter and also the signal flasher. Now, bike no more E.O leaking, and the funny thing is, the engine is 'quieter' when idling.

Hehehe. Now still thinking lah bro whether really want to sell off the bike. 50 -50 leh. Anyway, I find that the price that i quoted is a bit too ex liaoz so I doubt I can sell it off. Anyway, I'll just wait for any calls lah bro, if have, then I think and decide again. Hehehe.
