hi guys, just bought my Nolan N102.

initially enquired from regina. they qouted me $280 WITHOUT sticker. was thinking of buying the zeus flip up ald... then took a walk down to chong aik. got a quote of $290 WITH STICKER. spend quite a while thinking about it.. then decided to get the N102 instead of the zeus since the linings can be removed.. plus came with VPS and well.. its a Nolan.

so if u guys looking for one can go check it out yup?

GPR, MHR open face can get around $50 or less. No point getting a Arai or Nolan open face when it makes no diff to a GPR.

I mean, in case of accident (touchwood), no matter how good you open face is it still won't protect your face. Buying a Arai and buying a GPR makes no diff to me, just that one would cost me more than a high-end HJC full-face.

Just want to consolidate where to buy which brand of helmets.

HJC - Motoworld

Arai - Chiap Lee

Shoei - Chong Aik

Nolan - Chong Aik

Shark - Motoworld

AGV - Motoworld

Any more to add? Any amendments?

That's why you can see the label "for export" near the helmet.

The $185 open face Nolan is worst than the $45 MHR. Visor drop off easily, noisy.

Well, one visble difference is the quality of the visor.

Quality visors of Shoei, Arai & Nolan helmets have less distortion.

Distortion gives me minor headache.

Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists?

There are definitely plus points about more expensive helmets. Frankly speaking, I had been using a GPR for over 2 years and Pilot before that, never felt any problem from the visor.

Normal helmets only have the styrofoam and the cushion for protection and the outer layer is normally just mass-casted ...i know of pple who has gotten involved in accident be4(jus skidded) and tumbled a few times and the whole helmet jus cracked up..... however if u read about the composition of the outer casting of the arai helmet, it's made from multiple layers of interlayered fibres, reinforcing the helmet in the process...and it's snell-approved : frens who have used arai and crashed before had their helmets remain intact even though they fell hard onto the road...impacting the helmet in the process...just scratches to the helmet and no cracks ...at the end of the day, for most of us riding on the road, the helmet is our one and only protection....so it's worth investing more in something proven.

so i'm still heads up for arai :thumb:
