We try our best to complete 4 rounds of ur test route.

IF... there is extra time after 4 rounds, we will allow u to practice in the circuit.

Can we request to have some time to do CR instead on a RR lesson?

For example, since u said 4 rounds of road practice, can we request for 3 times instead and the rest of the time do CR?

I think an RR costs more than a CR? A bit not worth it to use the RR time for CR then isn't it? Purely considering from economic point of view.

Check Right.

so we use the nearest kerb as a guide depending on which lane we are in?

- if i'm in left most lane with kerb on my left, i check right

- if i'm in right most lane with nearest kerb on my right, i check left

- if i'm in right most lane and nearest kerb is on my left (two way traffic with no kerb in the middle), i check right

- if if i'm in right most lane and nearest kerb is on my right (two way traffic with a kerb in the middle), i check left

Go for CR, got 2 hours of personal circuit time at a cheaper price rather than RR which is much more focused on well, road revisions.

If all goes fine, I should pass my Lesson 5 by the end of next week. Next comes the PDL, so here's a few qns:

1. What do I need to bring?

2. How much is the fee?

3. How long is the waiting time?

4. Is it recommended to apply in the morning or night cos I always see long Q there.

Other than that, I have other questions regarding Class 3's FTT:

1. What do the questions mainly test on? Car mechanism or traffic rules?

2. Anything to watch out for?

I have not read any materials or attend theory lesson and I have a FTT tml. Hopefully the Practice would help.

I wish I got the time to go down and ask also... SSDC counter always super long one. Not worth the 10-15mins wait just to have few questions answer.

Don't say I'm asking to be spoon fed also, saw a few inconsistent answer that why I want to clear them up here.

Don't like that leh...

Why must we pay 1/2 the price of ERP when we are 4 times smaller & more than 5 times lighter than a car?

Posted

Thanks icygal!

Another point to clarify, do we get the PDL on the spot? I remember a post 'somewhere' here saying we need to wait for like half a month? Is it true?

For what I know all PDLs get on the spot. Unless didn't pass the color test or got more than 13 demerit point... :X

Yah lor, RR is more expensive than CR. If you wanna practice your circuit stuff, just book CR can already!

They have a very good point.

thanks, tomorrow will be my lesson 2, will clarify with the instructor again, a bit confused on this

Don't know it's the 2-week break or what, made a lot of mistakes during my CR.

1. First time fell off plank. I was doing fine till one instructor tell me I cannot do this and that, so I try a new technique by pressing the brake pedal. Fall down cos press too hard. After getting green light from another instructor, went back to my freewheel technique. Got 7-8 seconds, not too bad I guess.

2. Practicing for my U-turns and cornering as a group, I instinctively bring out my right foot when the turn was too sharp and I was about to fall, all this while the bike was still moving! If I did fell, my leg would have gone there and then... Not to mention the guy behind me will ram his bike into mine as well.

3. After doing the slope have to turn back to the courses right? During the bend, I pull in my clutch instead of the brake!!! The bike go even faster and went straight to the 2nd lane, lucky no car there... else good game. Very lucky the car turning beside me was moving very slow also, else I'll get hit from the back.

Other than that, I guess my skills got improve. Managed to unravel the 'secret' to better cornering during the group practice, I did better for fig-8 and crank course now.

Whole point of CR is to learn from your mistakes so you won't make the same ones on test day, isn't it? With a few more practices, you'll get the hang of it.

True man. I will be going back for 1 more CR this Friday before taking my Prac 5 next week. Wish me luck!

Anyway, thinking back about the cornering incident, it is kinda scary man. I dread to think what might happen if there are cars along that bend!

Can do it one! I also take 3 times for L2. Even in CR, I am constantly finding ways and trying new technique to improve my skills at the courses.

To negotiate around those crank and fig-8 you hv to rmb your eye point. It sound cliche, repeated many times, but with the right eye point, you only need to feel and sense your way thru'.

One thing I did in CR today was to ride repeatedly in circles, focusing on a standing umbrella in the middle. What I learnt was that I didn't even need to look, just feel my way thru'.

Try looking at the tree in the middle next time, maybe it will help you alot. For crank course, do the same for the first turn.

hey guys, for my fig-8 i keep getting penalized by the instructor for wobbling, but time wise i have no problem hitting the 11 seconds..... any way to avoid getting points for this?

Cheap + fast = no good

Cheap + good = not fast

Good + fast = not cheap

Don't worry lah, the learner drivers are always DAMN BLOODY SLOW around that corner... And almost all turns, in fact.

I remember being very frustrated a few times, stuck behind those ridiculously slow cars!
