gotta agree with you. passing TP is really nothing much. just allow you to ride on the road legally. there's alot more to learn on the road. hahaha.. simple thing like parking can be a big problem too. :shy:

Taking my 2B TP on 28jan. Corse, if i didn't pass **Cross fingers**, my next TP most likely at woodlands right? Then i have to re-familiarise with the new routes again??

Grats...can go check at one-motoring to see your bike registered 1-2 days before collection...if registered, high chance will get it on time.

Anyone know where can I get a box of a different colour? Seems like most shop I visited only have black box leh.. :(

Hello Fellow Riders.

 

I think most of u may have read The New Paper on Sat, 2/1/10.

 

An accident involving 2 young ladies on a bike on Clementi Ave 6 towards PIE after celebrating their New Year Celebration, on New Year's Eve.

Unfortunately, the pillion rider died on scene who was abt to celebrate her 21st b'day this month. The Rider is still in hospital and I believe she was one of our students 3 yrs ago.

 

Please ride safely everyone. Dress appropriately too with proper shoes, jeans, jacket & gloves. :thumb:

i wonder what it would take for riders to start embracing protective gear in this region. i think many fatalities can be prevented if riders wear proper riding gear.

now only my head and foot are properly geared up. financial constraints la, not in the work force currently. but will invest in good quality gear once my budget allows me too.. ever witness personally my friends' crashing and the gear they are wearing saved them from a great deal of pain. good gears don come cheap... sad... should have a subsidy from tp or driving sch to promote riding with proper gear la...

People rather spend money on useless (sometimes dangerous) cosmetic accessories and unnecessary mods for their bike. Save on that and maybe more people can afford to get the appropriate riding gear.

 

A decent (doesn't have to be branded stuff) set of gear consisting of a fullface helmet, jacket, gloves and boots wouldn't cost you anything close to $1k. Most would have paid many more times that amount for their bikes.

Some examples for everyone.

For a start, a MHR helmet cost abt $150-$200.

Gloves can buy something like $50-80, from Motorworld or Chiap Lee.

Racing Gloves with more protection $180-$250, Glover & other brands from Chiap Lee.

Then comes the jacket, Mesh Type with elbow and back padding, Arai is about $100plus, and other brands around $200(Chiap Lee), Komini abt $150 from Motoworld.

Riding boots can get abt $100-200 from Ah Boy or Chiap Lee.

 

I'm using A Soumy Helmet - $500 plus. Planning to buy Shoei, $500-700plus.

Ducati Gloves - $120. Planning to buy maybe Glover Gloves, $200 plus.

Dainese mesh Jacket - $500 plus. (Dainese products are expensive, but damn good quality for protection & its comfortable)

Garne waterproof Riding shoes - $280

 

Share with u all something.

I always wear baggy jeans. So when i'm out riding for long distance and into Malaysia, i'll wear knee guards. How?

I'll remove the the plastic part of the knee guards, leaving the hard sponge.

So i'll wear it before i wear my jeans. It will save your knee from futher damage from any hard impact on it. :thumb:

 

I've had too many Knee injuries. And i can tell u, It really hurts BIG time on the next day.

i just enrolled my 2A today, gng for Theory Lesson tomorrow...

Think 2nd Feb for TP is too rushy for me liaooo..... think have to wait for the next test date. hopefully in woodlands and is a 1 time pass :D
