im ok with it...(meet up)

 

been without my crashbar for the past few days...working a project on it(fixing up comet 500 fog lamp on it) Looking at Ami's bike inspire me to fix up...:cheeky: hope it will turns out fine...

our wording{ V A R A }place it over the radiator vending part....it should be nice...im working on it...will bring it on our next meeting...(bad on drawing) :thumb:

Yo man , welcome aboard.

so far got 2 brand u can consider.

1. Givi , can get it at chap lee , the shop that sells arai helmet

2. Power Bronze, bike tech 21, 63921230 , look for Shar or Z

3. Motorworld. They might carry it but i think more towards MRA, 2 piece type. But anyway give them a ring to check if they got 1 piece 68440792

 

Personally I prefer 2 piece aka MRA. U can adjust the height as and when u like. If always tall , very hot .

Powerbronze got 2 holes for ventilation, but too noisy when moving at high speed.

hope ur quest for ur wind shield is successful

vara '99 only comes wit two colours right? black bronze and orange right ?

 

think powerbronze or touratech is more of my choice..the flip up ver. been

 

receiving negative reponse bout the vara..but the VTR engine and the power

 

excites me...how do u clean the chains..? using degreaser ?

u can use automatic transmission oil to clean up yr chain...it works damme gd...can even clean up all the stubborn oil stain on yr bike...:thumb:

u bike got scottoiler?? get 1 if u can...its :thumb:

Hi Dough76.

 

I've tried the power bronze windshield before. It's ok but have a bit of view distortion.

 

I'm using a Ermax one from Motorworld. They cost the same but Ermax don't have the visual distortion problem. :smile:

I've been riding a GS1100 for quite sometime...and to tell u...the vara feels more umpphh!! more stable riding and without the side boxes its easier to squeeze ard...

 

tot of buying the 03 model but too ex...the only thing i dun like bout the vara is the chains..the rest is WONDERFUL..I hear that the 99 model have problem...dono wat?

 

bout the screens, how much does the ERMAX cost at Motoworld ?? Is there anymore screens avail like the SECDEM or TOURATECH ?

hehehe , but ur fuel comsumption compared to ur ex-gs is also ummmphh . But its a trade off for the insane pick up .Anyway if u not throttle happy, normally full tank to reserve which is ,indicator lights up (21 litres, and 4 litres for reserve) could get u abt 330 -340 depends on ratio of city and highway rides. If u throttle happy , 280 u need to pump liao.

 

If u really open throttle slowly, practise mind over hand control , 3k rpm change gear , dun buka often, slowly pick up your speed...etc ,21 lit could get u more than 380km before u hit reserve ... tested & proven :thumb:

 

 

99 model got a major problem which is warrenty issue. The cam timing or tensioner got problem. ( if i am not wrong).... any bros around could help to chip in???? :help:

 

 

anyway coming back to wind shield , give motorworld a call for ermax quote... can bargain with them also... heheheh but usually prices for shields fall within 180 (givi) to 250 (MRA) , prices are just indicative as i gathered it during when euro was a sweet 1.8 to 1.9 period.

But anyway cant go too far out dude...:thumb:
