Inspection of bikes with aftermarket exhaust

Hi!!! This is for all newbies like me who bought secondhand bike with aftermarket exhaust. I boght recently a scoot with LV exhaust which was installed quite sometimes back. The buyer assured me everything was alright showing me the papers necessary. Last saturday, I went to the inspection site at Bukit Batok. The technician looked at me with a blank face saying got papers?? I said the bike had gone inspection many times before and had no problems. I showed him a paper from LTA which says that the exhaust model is legal for my specific scoot. He still look at me with disbelief.

Than I saw his face like EUREKA and he used his computer and keyed in my bike number and than LO and BEHOLD. There in beautiful colour my bike pictures taken in 2007 to show the exhaust serial number and approval by LTA.

PHEW. solve problem. If not for computer, I think I would have been given the run around taht day.

Ohhhh, and I think its because I was very sure the exhaust was legal and my insistence he checked. They guy never say sorry so I told him please check properly next time. I asked him where can I go to see those images and LTA approval. No answer. Suddenly so deaf.

Its in their Data Base, if you wanna "Browse" those photos, the only way is to HACK into their system.

Theres no way u can see those images. Try to get the cert with inspection letter from the owner so if any lta stop u to check for ur exh cert it saves ur time if u can show them. But since u passed ur inspections, u shudnt be worried. Got kena one time buy 2nd hand bike with aftermarket exhaust, previous owner nbr register, kena caught pay fine. Den best part to get it registered, need the original cert of the exhaust. Knn. Dun have cannot register. So becareful.
