Ken, honestly tell U, 180/55 is not enought for track session, cos i always over use it. Sharp end of d tyres, i usually use until round. Tat means is unsafe to use if u play corner until very low or high speed. i try both 180.55 n 190/50 DC on my bike b4, but end up i still like 190/55. Very stable..... Try on 190/50 n U will know y I say so.

Just in doubt? Ok,I just got my bike for 2 weeks. As for tyre....the previous owner fitted the Pilot. Ok,the thread for the tyre still ok. But I personally feel tat the tyre are rather hard. Dunuo is the tyre kept too long in the shop or due to the pressure. Anyway to find out? As for brake pad....durin' the day I get bike, just ask the shop to change the front liao....but I think they change the cheap cheap type for me lah. As for the rear pad...still haven't change....coz tat day the shop say their rear pad run out of stock and ask me to come back the other day to change.

Yaya...is all the 954 brake so strong? I just apply a gentle pressure on the brake when travelling at 110+km/hr....then I skid liao. Dunuo is the tyre no grip or I still can't get use to the brake. Is all the class 2 bike brake so strong? But I did heard tat 954 got a fantastic brake system as compare to other litre class bike. Pls justify me if I'm wrong.

yes the brakes are so strong and i'm so proud of my brakes.. u can always click the numbers on your brake lever to no.3 it'll be much easiler to control..

personnally i use no.2 with EBC HH and i can easliy stop with jus 1 middle

finger oops..

Btw...just a ques regarding the brakes. Wat is the number represent on the brak lever. I did play wif it by adjusting here and there. I suppose it is to adjust to suit our palm size. Correct me I'm wrong.

So for rear brake...is there any adjustment which I can adjust myself?

Pls enlighten me, guys!!! Thanx!!

the number on the brakes are actually freeplay(the amoount of distance u hav to pull the brake before it engage) adjustment but indirectly adjust the brake feel also.. the higher e no. the more freeplay.. which means the higher no. takes longer to engage.. indirectly if u put it at no.1, it'll be very senseitive.. no.6 will be laggy..

yes u can adjust the rear brake also, it's e 2 nuts at the brake pump.. but consult your user manual better.. a bit hard to describ..

I usually go there to do my bike. Only small problem then i go there. If big problem, then i go Loois motor. Ah-Chong told me abt ure 954 thing, told me roughtly hw u fail. Then I see ure poor left hand side fairing, engine casing n ure tail board. next time, remember dun brake too hard can liao....

Ure tyres on d bike, seem a bit too old.

Wat i mean is, if u go to track, dun use 180/55. U can try to use 190/50 or 190/55. Better for track. 180/55 is too small for track session. I have tried both tyres at track... so I can tell U tat if u go track, 180/55 is not enough at all. Dun believe, ask Rayng or Ricktm abt their comments.....

I dont think so , i use 180/55 for track, and only high speed corner not that stable.(200km and above)

But in PG all are short and sharp corner.expect a one.

It all depend on rider.alot of pro is using 180/55/17 for race.

I dont think why you say 180/55 not enough at all.You dont tell mi a 600 cc install a 190 tires on his rear.

i have max lean and i still feel comfortable. It has quicker turn in.

Personaly i dont feel why you say 180/55/17 not enough for track.

even in sepang i feel great about ,my tires.

If 180/55/17 dont go track ,why tires maker make this size????

okay lor.... it's up to the person who use d tyres. Personally, I tried 180/55 n I feel not comfortable wif 180/55. Still prefer 190/50, more stable....

One of the aces of 954 is its brakes.

Yes, they do feel very powerful. If you use 4-fingers to brake, as the riding school teaches, you will either find yourselve stopping way in advanced of the traffic stop line or do a stoppie.

Try using 2-or-1 finger instead, as Ray suggest.

I was using a Michelle Pilot previously. It's good enough for aggressive road use as well as some track. However, Pilot is an old model. Check if your tyre has hardened. I am using BT-014 now. It is excellent in that it gives both grip, as well as longitivity. Most other tyres can't give you both of these simultaneously.

haha i'm a 190 supporter.. they say 180 easiler to conquer sharp turn but i can't feel it.. high speed bend i can feel 180 being very nervous or unstable.. think the problem lies with me cuz many ppl didn't feel it.. i'll only use a 180 only if its a supercorsa or rennsport..

When I'm doing a high speed bend on my 929, bike seems to be giving way bit by bit. Anyway, I dun have 929 liao... dun tok too much, or else more ppl will bomb me.
