yeah...scottoiler is great...

what not so great is the rolls royce price...and the scottoil $$$$$$$$$$$$.

hahahha..thank you for all those who installed the EZZYOILER .. at a fraction of the cost..

no more mess...chains in tip top conditions all the time...it will pay for itself...in no time..

happy new year...enjoy your holidays...

Sorry, i should hv been more generic in describing the item. Original intention was to describe the auto oiler but got carried away by the item currently being used on my own bikes.

Less hassle, less mess and more dummy-proof. Start engine and go!

Happy Holidays.

I have Scottoilers installed on both bikes, and it has been 2mths plus now. They are still working like gems.

No more messy wheels, greasy chains, etc.

hi fatboypin, where do you position your discharge nozzle? at the rear sprocket, like how they show in the technical guide?

and of course, what is your drip rate? mine's set at around 1 drop every 75-90 seconds.. result? messed up front sprocket and the oil drips below my bike, near the side stand.

i thought i had a leak, but it's not. I'm having a hard time getting a correct flowrate. what's yours?

why do you need to use soap/degreaser after using kerosene? like that you might as well use the degreaser to clean your chain?

The end nozzle is at the rear sprocket, abt 630-700 o'clock posn and just above the chain. Almost in contact with the sprocket itself. Not sure if this is the posn described in the manual.

Re flow, i hv no idea what the drip rate is like. But after running, i check to see chain. They appear well oiled all ard. No visible sign of excess spray all over the rear wheel. V clean in fact. Another rider said the optimal posn for his bike is abt three clicks from closed posn. Such that a little bit of oil stains appears at the end of the chain guard. He tried many settings, either excessive overspray on the wheels and undercarriage, or no visible sign of oiling on the chain.

Hope that helps.

if its strong enuf to remove the dirt, it might be strong enuf to remove the grease in the o/x rings as well. for the kerosene, the oily residue will prevent ur lube from sticking to ur chain. i just use diluted dishwashing liquid, enuf to remove the kerosene yet gentle so as nt to remove the grease frm the rings.

@sweeseng1985 i tink its for the type of chain u hv. mine is a 520 chain, so i tink its the short one. btw, the brush can be adjusted to suit the chain type. im sure its quite durable. i hv a fren who hv used it for over a year no probs.

Im using scottoiler. But i would still clean my chain sometimes.

I ONLY use kerosene to clean the chain, brush it with grunge brush till u can see dirt/debris come out, use old cloth to wipe it off (1 section at a time - around +-10 inch maybe?). Repeat the procedure. Wash it with soap n rinse. Make sure you get rid of the kerosene. Then wash my bike as per normal. Polish here n there. Wax....

Take a ride for few minutes till the chain is warm enough. Then spray the chain wax.

When the chain is warm, the oil/wax would nicely set in. So you wont have oil flings. I do all this with the help of paddock stand.

Hope it helps.

if u r referring to surface rust on the sideplates, wd40 on a piece of towel n rubbing it hard shud take it off.

i agree. though meticulous as compared to maintenance-free chain oiler, the feeling after u scrub the chain and touching it after that is shiok! i had mine to the extent of there is no residue/dirt wen run my fingers over the chain. :thumb: clean it once a month is gd enuf IMO.

honestly, does cleaning the chain with kerosene (spray and then brushing it off) will really clean the chain? and then oiling it thinly with chain wax. what brand? is it the same as chain lube?

very skeptical abt chain lube cos it seems to be a dirt and grime magnet... end up all greasy and black.

how long is the entire cleaning process?

manual cleaning tried it...took me more than 2 hrs to do agood job...

but the hassle turn me off..

i really resprct those who dont mind the hassle and expenses to do it thoroughly..ie blood sewat and tears and $$$.

thats the reason the EZZYOIKER WAS CREATED....

Now adays i dont have a date with my chain..maybe 2 minutes amonth to top up lube in my ezzyoiker..

enjoy your dates ...

yup. u would be able to clean it really thoroughly. once u r used to it, less than an hour lar. jux make sure u use soap to get rid of the kerosene afterward. then ride around abit to dry n warm up the chain, then apply ur lube. i always prefer the dry wax type, not those greasy types. personally, i only use Maxima Chain Wax (gold can) or Dupont Chain Saver. they are the best so far. minimal fling, doesnt attract much dirt and good chain life...
