Fellow S4 bros, im planning to get K&N Air filter.. but wondering if anyone experienced b4 a rise in their fuel consumption after installing it ? (considering all other things being equal)

More air flow = better combustion = fuel burns our faster? o_O

Any advise is appreciated..

More air flow = better combustion = better performance = fuel burns slightly faster than normal

by installing aftermarket air filters doesn't it affect d air/fuel ratio..

thus making it a leaner mixture n having less lubrication on d cylinder walls?

correct me if i'm wrong coz m willing to learn :D

Will affect the A/F ratio but not much compare to having an aftermarket endcan or exhaust system. BTW lubrication of the cylinder walls are mostly done by the engine oil,but just a fraction is done by the petrol additives on the upper cylinder wall.

Are you currently using stock airfilter?. By right you should have changed to aftermarket ones together with the pipe. More effective. For peak peformance its best to retune. Its up to individual.

ic.. ic.. so will a better grade of petrol help to maximise lubrication of the upper cylinder wall or its still a matter of a/f ratio?

":btw: any precaution or -ve symtoms to take note of since its running on the leaner side?

Better grade?.Should be. During my long trips up north,i just use abit of fuel additive like "Redex" just to increase the lubrication on the upper cylinders. By installing the KNN airfilters w/o using after market exhaust,IMHO its still ok. How to know you engine is running lean or rich is by reading the spakplugs. Some effects that caused when running over lean is burned valves.

Nowdays i seldom see redex, maybe discontinued. You might want to try FP60(available at bikeshops) or EP1(Esso).

Please note that those green oil selling at Carfour and elsewhere is at $6 per bottle and in a pack of 5 bottles is at $30. Mine is $5 per bottle and only $25 per pack.

Not sure if you have got them from me but I already have people who tried both and were telling me that the settling residue has a difference colour in dye tone..darker green and the one at Carefour is lighter and yellowish. I was told that the one gotten from me is more effective..and that's why they cam back to get from me again. Packing of the cap is oso different.

Is it of the same or not I myself dunno as I have never tried the other. Mine is from initial source when it first luanch way before it gotten into the open market. You user be the judge and let me know.

No...different. Understand that its repacked in Malaysia. The colour from your image also looks different from earlier days when it was available in Autobac at Bukit Batok and another car accessories shop in Sebawang Giant. Tested liao by a few car owners..all commended different. Not saying that these are fake or whateevr, I really dunno know just that after comparing, we don't use them anymore. The one I have is a 3 in 1 and content is 'dark' gold in colour originally from USA.

As for the green oil, the cap is a squeeze nozzle type. I believe the one at Carefour is unscrew and pour s shown to me.
