Simota cheaper than K&N if i not wrong, KNN and Simota made frm two diff materials.. K&N Better... Read in a Bike mag (USA) comparing various air fiter..K&N tops because of most improve hp and reasonable price..(cheaper than other brands but perform better)

I've seen the Simota filter and the filtering element is like super thin and very sparse. See thru easily. Can it trap particles very well?

Can..trapping of those fine particles will be done by the oil. Thats why you need to oil those filters after washing(except paper element filters).

Jbat, the filtering element is really very porous... Head down to MW and take a look at the sample... I see the filter I also not sure whether worth it to buy or not...

I'm also using simota on my dad's revo...I did realize that the filtering element is abit more porous compare to K&N...but thats why they recommend to pour "air filter oil" onto the filtering element. This traps those fine particles. I just use the K&N airfilter oil to oil the simota...

Hi ,

how do u know when you need to change an air filter?

Also if its a stock air filter how many km can it last?

Thanks.

Should check your stock airfilter every 10 000Km...Ditch the stock airfilter bro..save the earth..use K&N...or any other washable airfilter...

Mototiam won't charge you much for servicing of re-usable air filters. Usually not more than $10.

For K&N the manual says no need to retune. From my view lah unless you remove the airbox and use open pod filter or some sort modify your airbox then tuning is needed.
