Hi bros,

Would like to share a service brought by a guy intro by my friend..

Last month, I had a flat car battery and couldn't jump start my car when I was about to go for work, I called my friend (who was in the automotive line) and he intro this service to me.. Called the guy and he came on the agreed time, changed the battery, did some checks and I'm good to go..

As far as I know, my old car battery was replaced less than a year and I thought it was still under warranty! The workshop claimed that I'll have to deal with the supplier directly or something like this.. On top of that, the useless battery is still VERY popular till today so beware... -.-!

Though I still have to take half a day's leave, but still I've saved lotsa time and money compared to towing, workshop throat-cutting price etc. Really gotta thank him for his superb reasonable price service! Once bitten twice shy, checked with him regarding the warranty issue, he assured that he will definitely replace all factory defect batteries changed by him within a year.. :thumb:

Thats good. All batteries come with mostly 1 year warranty in fact. Just that during a faulty battery, they dont compensate for towing services if i'm not wrong but nevertheless still get stuck there. At most later go and exchange battery tats all.

Voltmeter's purpose is to monitor battery performance and pre-warn any potential deficiency so that you can get it checked before get stuck on the road waiting for tow.

I think it still depends on the reason why the battery gets faulty.. The battery man claimed if its due owner's fault e.g. forgot to off headlight etc. the warranty could not be valid.. but if it's due to manufacturer defects,

They will attend to my breakdown site as usual and replace another brand new battery for free..

I'm not sure about that, I addressed him as Quek.. Hmm.. I dun think we're talking bout the same person, as he does not use Amaron..

Btw, I've heard and seen many negative reviews bout Amaron batteries that died within a year yet can't claim! Mine's one good example.. :faint: They were cheap and good in their first few batches but the quality now really lousy.. Using AC Delco now, without any repair to alternator and voltage is stable all the way..

That's good service and procedure practised by most suppliers. What I meant is voltmeter can at least warn in advance when battery has some problems w/o having to wait for breakdown then react. AC Delco is good, price reasonably and service is satisfactory. Ordered from them for wipers and air filters etc. :thumb:

Personally I think voltmeter is good to have, be it to monitor battery or for cosmetic purpose. Theres a warning light if ever theres any potential problem with your battery. I've had them for all my vehicles over the years.

I have a friend who brought in brand new 60mm voltmeter from Taiwan and selling cheaper than the market here. sms 83222896 to enquire... Cheers!

I understand the use, pros + cons on having a volt meter.. Appreciate all your kind suggestions but I find that for those who're interested will pm u directly as I'm not interested in getting a voltmeter though I've got lotsa lobangs to get volt meters, I've got my ways to check my alternator etc.

No offence, I started this thread to comment on a fantastic service received by me.. Not for any commercial purposes for voltmeter, accessories etc. thanks!

To each preference.. Brand might be good, but the quality and after sale service now really sucks!

Amaron is good, thats why we have so many dealers in Singapore. Nam wah battery is the Agent in Singapore. "fresh battery" purchase from authorised dealers are given 12 mths warranty by Nam Wah battery.

Some workshop carry Amaron but due to their stocks being old, order from agent 6-12 mths ago, they sometimes can only give 3-6 mths warranty as the stocks are very old.

People who get their stocks from me, are guaranteed fresh as my stocks which i replenish weekly, dont last very long with me, i specialise in selling battery thus my stocks move very fast. Try fitting the freshest Amaron in your car and tell me whether is good or not.

I have been an authorised dealer with Amaron for 3 years and i do not have a lot of problem from my customers. Customer who encounter battery problem during my 3 years in the business(less than 10 claims) were all able to claim a new battery from Nam Wah Battery if the battery is found to be faulty once they produce my receipt.

I give 365days and 24hrs of my time to the public so i am able to give assistance to my customer when they need me, they just have to pay me a small fee to cover my petrol to go down to assist them. This is the special privilege they have when they change their battery with me. I will give them full assistance on the claim procedure.

For example when u buy an iphone from m1(dealer) during the 1st week with problem, u bring down to m1 and they will change a new set with you. After the 1st week, whatever problem, customer will have to go to apple for repair.

For my situation, i am like M1, i sell battery to customer, when they have problem and need to claim warranty, they will have to go back to Apple(nam wah battery) for claims, they do not claim from me as i am just the dealer, i can only give assistance on how the claims should be made.

Amaron good or not good, many people say is good, cos they are getting the fresh stocks from me.

Bikers will know if my price for amaron is good or not good, cos even the Amaron big size(12v 60ah) battery price is even cheaper than a class 2 bike battery. range is from $120 -$220 depending on sizes(35ah to 100ah), so u tell me expensive or not as compared to a R1/R6 battery

TBH, i have done alot of research into batteries. a battery widely circulated by distributor is because the distro is widely accepted, the brand is famous because of marketing. whether the battery is really good or not is an entirely diff story. a good battery have a fairly stable DISCHARGE curve over 70-90% of its useable life and hopefully shelf life. most of the batteries 90% are not good (trust me when i say that). if you are mad about good power, do some research, BUT 99% of the time you WILL not find that suppliers tell you the specs properly except "good la" ... so if you are one of those that go into sexy discharge curves then you know i am serious about batteries.

BUT i really like to know is there such a thing as a workshop that opens 24hrs?
