Need some advices frm pros here

Went to do some bike hunting juz nw and i found a suzuki dr400z selling for $9800. It's an FV plate and have very low milage on it, no modification done on it & parts r all orginals...god i fell in love wif it at 1st sight...Jus as i was deeply in luv with it, the saleman offer me a ktm400exc. The KTM is a FS plate and selling for $9800 too!!! But the special thing is it is fitted with 2004 kit, excel gold rim and some accessories, it looks much smaller the other ktm 400 and it is ready for some serious off-road riding...man i fell in luv wif it too:lovestruck:

So wat do u guys think:confused: , is it expensive for the 2 bikes??? cuz i think that it is quite expensive for the ktm cuz i can get a brand new 2004 ktm for juz a little more (which i don't have the $$ for it:cry: )

Thx in advance.

I need more info. From Which shop. The KTM's 2004 kit as in plastics? Check the fork length might be a shortie fork from a 200. FS plate at 9.8k sound steep to me.

Check whether the DRZ is a S or an E model. The most simple way is If the DRZ's tank is metal, its a S. which is meant for the road.

May I enquire what would you be using it for? Transport or off road.

Wat's the diff. between S and E model?? If S model is a metal tank so i guess E model is a plastic tank. The one i saw have a plastic tank. I'm using the bike mainly for transport to work (which is abt 60km a day) and a little off road during the weekends.

As for the KTM, i've to go back to have a look:confused: The shop i went to is dirt wheels.

since u r using for transport and some trail ride i suggest u get the S model DRz unless u got a very big pocket tat allow unlimited money to drop out from your pocket then u may cosider Exc4 or E model...

hmmm ... actually either one is okay ... cos I think both got good resale value ... although the maintenance is on the higher side ... if you cant take it anymore about the non$en$e the bike throws at you .... just sell it ... it wont take months or years to sell one of these hotties ....:thumb:

and remember for that few months or maybe weeks or maybe days ... you know you're the king of wheelies / king of traffic light launches / king of babe magnet ....

and the colour of bright yellow or bright orange .... they are sure heads turner ...

:lovestruck:

So far no babe has pillion me on my KTM

best bike for sing n malaysia, road n trails/enduro. DRZ400S.

SAVE MONEY, save time, go riding not pay w/shop bill. max out at 160kmh. No need to kick start, bright headlamp, quiet exhaust that never irritates your neighbours. I think it's a gentleman's bike.

Don't buy it if you only like riding 2stroke stuff. Don't buy if you want a light bike, and don't buy it if you want to take MX jumps.

Smooth as silk, but can upgrade to Yoshi stuff if got cash to spend - but then it won't be street legal.

What a great bike to go around on, it makes me feel 'mature.'

Got cops pull me over just to look at it, the other guys got booked for noisy exhaust - ha ha gotta stop typing this junk!

According to factory reccommended pressure, frt is I think 22psi while the rear is abt 25psi. Tho with pillion the rear will be jus alittle different, but 25 shd be fine overall. Personally I jus blow it up ard 30, smoother ride mah.

Vibes compared to Wr4 is minimal, also depends on how fast you chose to go, and wat gearing you run. Yrs truely more sissy, so only cruise 80+, 90+kmh with a 15-45 ratio. NS Highway 100kmh cruise no prob tho.
