the simplest and yet cosmetically most enhancing mod to a car are the rims.

going 2 up guarantees you a complete new look for your car.

Pros

1. Nicer

2. Nicer

3. Nicer

4. Better stability/grip (depending)

Cons

1. slightly higher fuel consumption

2. higher cost in replacing rubbers

Go for it!

Bro, b4 u jump into it, pls find out more abt ur car

- wat pcd & off-set r u looking at?

- wat rims r there in our market?

- will too big a rim look ugly eg. 19" rim with OEM brakes

- possible to find very much cheaper 2nd hand rims in any forum or tyre shop?

- wat burget u setting?

- how offen r u ready to change tyres? bigger rims with bigger tyres can cost >2x of stock tyres

- bigger rims means thinner tyre means harder rides. if u go for softer tyre for more comfort then be prepare to change tyre ~30,000km

- higher fuel consumption. typical Jap 1.6L from 195/55/15R change to 205/50/16R fc will dip from 13km/L~11km/L & 215/45/17R will prob dip to

if u r on >2.0L then keeping it to 17"/18" shldn't make much of diff in fc

there's only 1 pros, GRIP + LOOKS. other than that all CONS. unless you dont drive daily, change tires once 3years like me... then go for it. i just changed for 16" to 17". there's alot to consider. rim offset, tire profile, pcd. grip depends on your tires also...

i change the rims for every single car i've owned.

it is the single best way to improve looks instantly.

i highly recommend.

of course, like what comics00 say, get your offset and stuff right.

currently i'm only running on puny 18"which is too damn small for my car.

but becos they are AMG rims, i feel sim tia to change and i dont want to spend another $10k on rims

here's a picture. bloody small right? especially agaisnt my 8pot AMG calipers...sigh

Pros are mainly for looks. Even if yours is an old pickup, big rims and a slamed look are the best cosmetic upgrades ever to a 4 wheeler.

If you go 2 sizes up or more, make sure your new rims dont puny out your brake calipers and discs. Also if you get it wrong, your front tyres may rub against the inner side of the your car when you do a full lock turn. Your may also need to roll the rears fenders.

More pros: cushier and planted ride

More cons are: tyres more x, speedo inaccurate and road noise may increase

Some work but I think it's all worth it.

Yah, especially extra sick when time to replace the pads and rotors. Hahahaha.

But not as sick as my colleague's 911 ceramics.... Hahahaha.
