whats the diff btw a SUV and a MPV?

Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) - Carry 5 ppl. "Sports" typically refer to 4WD and ability to go off-road. However, most of the popular SUVs you see on the roads these days are "soft" meaning that they are built more for comfort than off-road. Examples: Honda CRV, Toyota Rav 4, Nissan X-trail, Hyundai Tucson etc. Some even don't come with 4WD.

MPV (I think its multi-passenger vehicle) typically accomodate seven ppl in 3 rows of seats. Good if you intend to bring the whole family (plus the maid) for a long trip up to Malaysia. Not all MPVs are created equal, however. Depending on the size of the interior, some are comfortable for seven adults whilst others are more for five adults and 2 children.

Both SUVs and MPVs are heavy on petrol consumption (I get around 9km/l on my CRV). Performance is not as good as sports sedan either. However, the high sitting position can be addictive. I personally find it useful on those trunk roads in Malaysia where you need to cut into the opposite direction lane to overtake.

Indeed. Purchase price is a bit more than a normal sedan but cost of maintenance is high  The fortunate thing is I am getting some petrol subsidy from my company :cheeky:

I've driven an Altis before.. personally find the suspension kinda soft... you might want to lower it a little if you get it.. but of course try the stock settings first.
