hi something to clarify about chain and spocket.

between 520 convert and 525, i can understand 520 is better in pick up and acceleration but lousy top end.

my qn is my spec2 at 100km/h , rpm is around 6.5 at gear6, just on the edge of valve opening as i m using stock chain+spocket ratio.

if i change it to 520convert, will my rpm increase if i m still traveling same speed meaning with 520convert, at 100km/h rpm be ard 7-7.5 ?

this is to double confirm before i m changing spoc and chain in 1week time and don't wan to make a wrong decision. i would love a little light in pick up and acceleration but wanna know how much would i be sacrificing

please enlighten me as i m new and willing to learn. thank you brother and sister.

Bros, I just changed new AFAM sprockets and chain from unique...but I think quite noisy when moving...any advice? Tks

Is it really that bad? When I oil my chain the noise actually got louder hahaa. Just my opinion.

Im using the 525 AFAM Aluminum Sprocket.

Went to my regular bikeshop & asked about AFAM but they don't recommend. Their advise is "Stock is still the best". I haven't change so I don't know.

Yup, OEM steel is still the best. My DID O-ring with JT steel lasted me for 3.5 years with proper care.

Bro.. 520 and 525 is the size of the chain and sprocket

520 is. thinner, less material = less weight .

525 is thicker, more material = more weight.

Its the no of teeth that determinds your pickup and top end.

Stock teeth is 15 front and 43 rear.

so if u want more acceleration lesser top end go for 15 front 44or45 rear.

lesser acceleration , more top end 15 Front 42 rear

Thanks for the tip. I always tot that 160 rear is a little over for a 400cc as it used to be the size of supersports 600 during the 90s. Changing to 520 could be helpful.

Hi Guys,

Is it normal that during your first gear/slow speed your chain quite noisy?

or it means I need to more lube my chain and sprocket?

Btw I am riding CB400 Vtec3.

Thanks

I juz changed mine yesterday at Planet Motors.. DID X-RING comes in 2 colours, silver and gold.. With front and rear sprockets and silver chain, cost $180.. If gold will cost $20 bucks more..

Itz advisable to lube yr chain once a week.. Or if u r lazy, can install scott-oiler.. Lol!

I'm looking for 40 tooth rear steel sprocket for my version s. Anyone knows where i can get them?

Of course I trust my skills. I ride alone cos I don't trust the competency of the driver next to me.
