Willing to pay up to $30 per year for membership fees, willing to spend 1 weekday evening or weekend (max 4 hours) per week to work on the association.

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

why not lets juz meet those interested and do something abt it??? think a clear reports and plan have to be work out??? perhaps a small nominal amount to be collected at the start and as the association gets bigger the price is raise eventually? perhaps an official petrol station? i think petrol station will be willing to fork out money as it means that all bikers will go there to pump. however lots of things to take into concern... and what matter we want to take into hands at first? high accident? road? standards of workshops? and many other stuff. so i think juz chatting here is not enough... lets have a pool of pple thats willing to do something about it... and if we have enough pple perhaps we can each pool out a bit of money and discuss about other issues.

i would volunteer to be in the pioneer group provided. We will make an impact. Not like CASE. The group need to be involved. Need to be felt.

first thing i think we may need is number of ppl. If we can get the number of ppl who are willing to join... then it shouldnt be a problem. We need to get many number of bikers or non bikers to join in.

we need to work for a cause if you want ppl to join. So what is the cause? To solve biker problem or to be a mediater between bike shop and bikers?? Remember it may work overseas coz culure is different. Sgp just make abit noise and the ppl LL accept the move.

Seems that some of you are starting to want things to happen, if so then I would suggest you not get bogged down with too much detail. The priority is to get organised as a group first, to get some order into it and to work out who is willing to take on how much.

I suggest that a few people get together for a coffee at some location, just to get the ball rolling, and get to know each others faces. That should lead to a formal meeting at which a simple Establishment Committe can be nominated.

That group would take on the responsibility of preparing the Associations Charter, the written form of which would state the aims membership etc. That will take some time, as well as input from some professionals, someone with some legal background possibly. It would also require compliance with Sg's regulations in regard to Non-profit Associations etc

In all it will take some more effort before we all start worrying about what the specifics are that we want to address. I would think that once we have a working structure, we can then have ppl that have particular interests in those areas take on the role of watching over them. That can be doe by way of samller working groups or individuals. For example, a Competition Liaison, Gov and LTA Group, Charities, etc etc

As it is, count me in.

i dont dream of too much, just my same old aim:

1) help promote safety awareness among bikers

2) educates other road user on safety awareness for bikers

3) promote the image of bikers

4) provide basic svc like wat AAS is providing for drivers

so who/where/when is the first kopi session?

Upz for this idea. I moot the suggestion. Let's see how many of us are interested. If there are more than 100 entries, let's do it

i think a good way to drive membership to this association is to "partner" with the various bike groups that already exist today - on this forum as well as outsite this forum.

there is currently such association in singapore...but for car drivers. there's a yearly membership and you can call them if your car's having prob. it's 24hrs. and wat more...it's freee...unless change of parts is needed. not too sure wat's it called...but if you guys want..can collabrate with the group and come out with something for bikers.

Came across this association as follows:

http://www.smsa.org.sg/

Never heard of the existence of it, but it also promotes biking and had a office at Maxell Road.

Seems quite comprehensive - with newsletters, publications, standing committee etc.

But dunno why nobody heard of them.

Maybe we can contribute?
