Buying my first bike, I need some info pls.

Hello there!

 

I just registered a while back to read up on how to get my first motorbike.

 

I have already booked my BTT and will be converting my foreign licence.

 

However, I have some questions below that I hope someone will be able to explain it better for me.

 

1. I have a foreign license that allows me to drive a car and any cc of motorcycle back home. If I convert it to Singapore licence, fo i get to drive cars and any cc motorcycles too?

 

2. I was looking into 150 cc bikes specifically the NSR 150 SP. The prices are quite affordable. What are the things that the seller/owner needs to give to me when I purchase the bike? paperworks for road tax, registration, coe, inspection? what else?

 

3. How easy is it to renew COE for motorbikes that have COE's expiring within 15 months or sooner?

 

4. I got in touch with a seller for a bike but not the plate number. I guess he likes the number. How does that work? can I buy the bike and apply for a new plate number?

 

5. How do I know if a bike has already reached the max mileage and already reset to 0?

 

6. Are there any bike shops near Kovan MRT or Hougang Ave 3 that can do inspection if the bike is in tip top shape as well as do regular maintenance at very competitive prices?

 

7. Is the inspection only for modded parts? Or will it cover environmental health of the bike? Like carbon mono/di oxide rating, etc?

 

I hope there are some people in the forum who can share their knowledge with me so that I will be more enlightened.

Most of the question needs to be clarify with people in better positions. Maybe those instructors that are in the driving school.

 

Bike shops around kovan is pretty rare. Some of the better place would need you to travel out a little. For instance, khaki bukit area.
